Merry Christmas and Egregious Rambling
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everybody! Hope you are all having a good one! Just wanted to let you all know that due to the natural craziness of the season, it's unlikely I'm going to have time to get the next chapter of "Secrets in the Dark" done and posted until after Christmas. I'm sorry for the continued delay, but I am going to try to work in time to write during the holidays at least, so hopefully I will have something done or at least close to done after New Years.
In honor of the season (yeah right, good excuse anyway lol) I shall share this totally random picture I found that looks kind of like it could be Zero all wrapped up in vines (to the left). XD Unfortunately, it's not Zero, it's from a completely different manga, but it really made me think of Zero.
Actually, the whole manga that this came from keeps giving me these great VK vibes without being at all related to anything LOL. It's called "The Betrayal Knows my Name" and it's not about vampires, although it is about the supernatural. The very sweet main (guy) character's name is Yuki and he is looked over by a gorgeous, tall, dark beautiful guy named Luca (or Zess) who is very pureblood-like in how strong his power is as compared to others.
Then there's this one guy, Hotsuma who is like a three way cross between Zero, Kain and Aido if you can imagine that mix co-existing. XD That is to say, he looks like Kain and has the ability to burn things, but his temperament is a cross between Zero's stand-off tsunderness and feelings of being a monster and Aido's impulsiveness and tendency to act without thinking. :) The whole thing has distinctly yaoi vibes and several possible couples, although nothing happens (at least not yet anyway).
<= Luca / Zess looks a very little bit like Kaname at times and although Yuki doesn't really look much like Zero most of the time, it's enough to make me like it LOL. Actually, it's amusing because there's yet another boy in the story who looks even more like Zero, carries a gun as a weapon and works closely with his sister, a girl who uses a staff-like weapon which yet again brings my little obsessed brain back to VK (as does the fact that they're usually all running around in school uniforms). ;)
Also doesn't hurt that Luca has a painful history of having been owned by the Demon King (with some non-con hints/overtones), memories of which seem to be destructive to him, and a fate from which he is apparently saved only by his contract with Yuki. Those scenes totally made me think of Secrets in the Dark. :)
Full cast photo below, although in the actual manga some of the characters look more or less like others, as I mentioned. I think it's an anime too, shall have to try to look it up if I ever have time.

Oh my!!! Uragiri wa boku no namae ga shiteru! I remember when this first came out and trust me, a whole group of us kept linking it to VK ^__^;;. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE this anime/manga but....my inner fangirl kept jumping back to VK XD
And take your time with your story if thats what you feel is right for it ^^ (* mumble* I do that a lot too -.-;;)

Uraboku! Oh, how I love that series. :3 I couldn't help resemble the characters to that of the VK ones. I absolutely love all of them, especially Luka. <3 (Shusei kind of reminds me more of Zero than Tsukumo, mainly because of the personality but yes yes yes, Hotsuma = Kain/Aidou/Zero all in one LOL)
I really need to stop disappearing from the VK fandom *has been eaten by the Assassin's Creed fandom* and catch up on all things VK. >.<

UraBoku! :D Yup, I remember watching that when the anime came out - people kept comparing it to VK all the time.
It's good, I think you'll love it. I haven't read the manga yet, but the anime was great and the cast were fantastic.
You should look up the voice actors for the series, I bet you'll find some of your favourites on there. Having Mamoru Miyano and Daisuke Ono in the series definitely helped to persuade me to watch it XD

Thank you for pointing out that anime. Am loving it ^_^ Although I'm more into HotsumaXShusei pairing. Yuki is just too boring. Love Tsukumo too. He's lik a sweet gentle Zero. He really looks lik Zero. Too bad they didn't imply a pairing for him. Unless you count Toko-chan. Do share more animes in ur blog. Specially those that are shounen-ai.

So I'm not the only one who thought it was so similar....except that in UraBoku Yuki/Luca is canon...Ah, Kaname and Zero should dump Yuuki, and just screw each other already! xD

Sounds interesting, I may have to check it out. I will also recommend a new vampire manga called Lovephobia. As far as romance goes, so far it's boy/girl but the last panel seemed to give out potential yaoi vibes!

Everyone: Glad to know I wasn't the only one who saw the resemblance! :) Still haven't seen the anime, but I will sometime, especially after hearing about the voice actors involved. :)

Ah... yes. UraBoku. Brings back memories. :)
I watched the anime a while back, and I planned on reading the manga, but the main character is just a huge put off for me. Just plain... no.
At that time, I got tired of reading/watching about girly guys. Well, it was just so complicated back then and whenever I want to read about UraBoku, it just wasn't as it was back then when I was watching the anime. ;(
In another note, I only came to know UraBoku because it had such similar drawings to VK. ;D

No, I like the series but am not likely to be writing for it. My muse is still MIA and I need to finish my VK stuff still. :)
Kazekeshi: Yeah, it was the art similarity that made me check it out too. I still haven't seen the Anime. I tend to read more than I watch.
