Okay, so, I'm sure most all of you already know, but Chapter 49 of the Vampire Knight Manga is out and the wonderful Sagakure (thank you!!!) has once again translated it!

I'm still out of town, but snagging a few minutes now on the hotel's ultra pricey Internet to try to catch up a little. I'll be home in a few days, and believe me am I looking forward to that! :P
Anyway, back to more interesting topics, like THE CHAPTER!!
SPOILERS AHEADOkay, wow. The chapter was lovely and (in smaller part) frightening for so many reasons. The lovely part is Kaname and Yuki. Kaname has obviously been carrying his pain, loneliness and feelings of being dirty and tainted by what he is and what he has had to do for so long, it was really touching and beautiful to see Yuki finally able to try to ease some of that pain for him by not shying from or rejecting him for his confessions of all that he'd done.
You could see he expected it and feared it, but found caring and acceptance instead. :)
*happy sigh* I can't help it, I'm a total sucker for those kind of scenes were somebody finally bares themself, expecting to be hurt and is treated tenderly instead. :) The kiss and the blood drinking that followed was just... just...
*passes out in a little daze of happy hearts* It's so good to see a little bit of happiness amid all the turmoil and angst that everyone seems to be going through.
The frightening part is mostly to do with Takuma, although it's also very cool at the same time.
*her sadistic fangirl side is showing* The whole scene with him and Sara is deliciously angsty and chilling. The undertone of Takuma dealing with having apparently dueled to the death with his grandfather (and apparently having had nearly half his heart cut out in the process) is quite angsty, especially the moment when he tuned out on Sara having a flashback and she got ticked lol. Oh man... I was gripping my computer tightly when she clawed him. Ouch! Poor Takuma... it seems he does suffer for his friendship with Kaname. I can't help but love him for that and his loyalty.
*hugs Takuma tightly* I also love that Shiki and Rima were looking for him. The chilling fact is, I don't know if anyone else would be. With his Grandfather dead, his parents never having been very involved as far as we've seen and everything presumably going into an uproar with the death of the council, etc. it would be very easy for Takuma to get forgotten and there's not really anyone with enough clout to make any kind of fuss about whatever Sara might choose to do with him. (barring Kaname of course, but considering the whole council issue, he might be kind of persona-non-grata right now). So he's kind of in a scary situation.
Considering that the timeline jumps a whole year before the blip at the end of the chapter, it makes me doubly worried for Takuma, because I have to wonder if he's remained in Sara's keeping that whole time, and if so, what's been happening. Inevitably, I have tons of ideas that would be positively terrible for him :D LOL but I'm not sure Ms. Hino is as sadistic as I am, so we'll see. :)
Another person I worry about that we only get to see a little at the end is Zero. It's good to see that he's still looking, well,
good after a year. Maybe having drunk from two purebloods has stabilized him for a good while. I have to wonder though how he's getting blood now. It's hard to imagine that he hasn't needed it all this time, but then again, what with all the blood he got from Yuki 'awakening' and having re-absorbed Ichiru who we know drank Shizuka's blood, etc. too... who knows? I also wonder if he's working with the hunters or if he's rogue but I guess we'll probably find out more on all those different things eventually. I may be imagining it, but I thought his eyes kind of looked sad as well as closed.
*huggles him tightly* I'm so interested to see where all this will go.
