My Vampire Heart

Sagakure drew a GORGEOUS picture for my Blood Moon AU out-take story "Anything For You". (Read the story here).

As always, I stand in complete and utter awe of her AMAZING skill!!! *drools and nosebleeds an ocean* It's SO hot, delicious, expressive, angsty, passionate and mind blowing all at the same time! ♥♥ It's an illustration from the scene by the river when Kaname and Zero are, uh... being passionate in the rain. ;D *is still all bouncy and delighted at having been drawn such a beautiful gift*

Well, instead of focusing on finishing the next chapter of "Five Hundred Miles" and "Yours to Hold" like I keep telling her to do, my muse went off and inspired me to write two new one-shot fics instead. *rolls eyes* :D

Like I mentioned after reading the summary, it's definitely a slower kind of chapter, but very good. I felt really bad for Yuki in the beginning when she's in tears over the way things now stand with her and Zero. *sniffles* And she remembers back to when he almost kissed her and finally realizes how he felt all along now when all it can do is tear her up more, poor thing. :*

I have to agree with a comment Sagakure made, Yuki's decision that she has to pull it together and bury the part of her that wants to cry and scream so that she can keep going forward is actually very much like what Kaname has done all this time, and Zero too. I wonder if that was intentional on Ms. Hino's part? Ah me, these poor characters, they've all been through so much and I do love them so. :)

Her thoughts of Kaname and memories of how she drew her life and energy from him ever since she was born (TOTALLY ADORABLE PICTURE THAT MADE ME MELT INTO COOING DROOL THERE) were lovely though and helped me regain my composure enough to not totally ruin my makeup at work. XD

Yagari's interactions with the Night Class were cool. I like the way it was very clearly pointed out that the Night Class took a huge risk and had everything to lose by taking the stand that they did and protecting their fellow students at the school. Yagari saying how those who did what they had done (stand against the Council) would be ostracized from their families and destroyed (horribly) by the Council .

It was great that he was a little bit like... why did you do it, knowing the cost? *grins* methinks that he is going to have to be doing a little rethinking on his own opinion of all vampires and just how crazy Cross is or isn't... :D

Kain and Ruka were both great in how they answered why they had done what they had done. *fangirls the whole Night Class so much* I hope that she's right about their parents understanding what they've done, although it sounds like that might cause hard times for their whole families as well. Hopefully not so bad as it would have been though, since Kaname has already dealt with the Council.

I also like that all that info came out, because it made it doubly clear that Kaname was protecting not only the future of the vampire world, but also, the lives and families of all his followers / friends in the Night Class by destroying the Council like he did. Otherwise, from what Yagari was saying, it was pretty clear that the probability of them all being hunted down was very high. It's really cool and frightening to realize how much power the Council had like that.

Also very cool that Yagari has apparently been aware / looking into the connection between the Council and the Hunter's Association and all the corruption in both (especially how it related to Zero's parents' deaths) for a long time. :)

Speaking of the hunters... Cross is just so cool lately. *chuckles* I find myself thinking he's really hot, which is still such a shock to me. I would never have believed that I could think that less even just about ten chapters ago or so. XD But seriously, with his hair down and his serious face on like it's been lately... *drool* The fact that he was handcuffed to the other hunter dude in this chapter did nothing to assuage my urge to drool either. :) I love the total glare he gives the other hunter when the guy's saying how Zero really must have nothing human left in him. It's so sweetly obvious that he's still uber protective of Zero.

EEk that the hunters still want to capture / arrest Zero. Although, short of him giving up and letting them because he's despondent or something, I really don't see how they could at this point, since he totally trounced a Pureblood. XD

Speaking of Purebloods... Kaname was lovely in this chapter. Was it just me, or did he seem weary and possibly in pain that he wasn't showing when he showed up to speak with Yagari and the Night Class? :) Probably reading too much into it, but his body language, like the way he had his arms folded - it seemed to me a little more like hugging himself than his normal stance. I like to think he's a bit drained after what happened with the Council and having faced off against Zero and receiving a hunter-ish wound like he did. (looks like his right hand is still missing, poor baby! :D). *cough* okay, my own little fantasies aside, I liked that part, and I LOVED when Yuki came up behind him and hugged him. You could tell he really needed that. :) LOL loved Yagari pointing his gun at him and being all "this is all your fault". *chuckles* can we say he and Zero really have a lot in common? :)

Yuki protecting him and Kaname in turn being protective of her was so sweet. I'm both intrigued and concerned by what he means about 'taking responsibility for what he did'. It leaves SO many possibilities open for the future!

Really, this whole chapter is such a great set-up for having so many different ways things could progress from here. :)

Aido was so lovely too. I loved how shocked and kinda hurt he was by the reception he initially got from the Day Class girls. The look in his eyes when he realized that they knew he was a vampire was kinda touching. He was his usual self, trying to shrug it off like... oh.. yeah, figures... first time you do something totally unselfish for a noble cause and now they all are scared stiff of you... It was great that it didn't end up that way. :)

GO YORI for being the one to break the ice and not be afraid first! :) *Aido and Yori fans all grin* I was suitably impressed with the other Day Class girls too for getting over their fear like that and declaring that they didn't want to forget what had happened. :)

And Zero... we didn't get to see him much this chapter, but when we do see him at the end, carrying Ichiru's body... *sniffs and clings*

I am really, really interested in seeing where this will all go and how the plot shall evolve from here. Ms. Hino has really been weaving one heck of an interesting and compelling story! :)

First off, something actually of interest to people:

There's a summary and some preview pics of Vampire Knight Chapter 47 up on Sagakure's blog! You can check it out HERE.

A slower chapter than the last couple have been, but it also looks very good and interesting! I will save further comments and ramblings on it for once the scanlation is out, but there looks to be many delightful moments in there, including some sweet Kaname x Yuki ones, some adorable Aido and even Aido & Yori ones, interesting/cool Yagari & Night Class ones and a very angsty if breif Zero and Ichiru one. Big thank you to Sagakure for sharing the summary with us! :)


Moving on to less interesting things... I just decided on a new type of torture I'd never considered before, and yet somehow will probably never find a way to use in a fanfic = laser hair removal.

I'm having laser hair removal done on my legs (which is more than I'm sure any of you wanted to know) and my second appointment was today over lunch. They can do it in about 40 minutes if they have two people working at the same time, which it has to be since they aren't open in the evenings and weekends are always jammed. Man, it was pretty painful today! :P The first appointment hurt too of course at points (some areas are more sensitive than others) but for some reason this one was worse. They say that's normal though cause I guess they up the intensity of the laser after the first time. Ouch. Nothing I couldn't endure mind you, but still...

Anyway, afterwards my legs were all red and blotchy and almost welted looking (this is also normal - it feels kinda like a mild sunburn but goes away within a day. Despite looking scary, that part of it isn't actually very bad at all.) and I couldn't help sitting there and thinking about all the more cool ways one (and by 'one' I usually mean Kaname and Zero LOL) could get injuries etc. that look that way, like burns, chemical exposure, etc. I tried to come up with a way to involve lasers, but somehow that always ended up turning messy so I abandoned it.

Yes, in case anyone's wondering, I am twisted. :) I tend to pull inspiration from events like that. Plus, thinking about Kaname and Zero helped me not focus on the hurt while it was happening. XD Ah, sometimes my VK obsession comes in handy.

All that also got me (by some inexplicable round about way) to thinking about tattoos. Those are painful too. I have a small tattoo on the front of my hip that I got a long time ago and it did *not* feel good going on. I can only imagine how painful it must have been when Zero got his tattoo, especially on an area as sensitive as the neck, which is of course even more sensitive for vampires. *shudders and hugs him*

Well that's about it, *attempts to rein in her wildly meandering ADHD* I haven't really got anything interesting to say but I'm going to go see if I can write a little more "Five Hundred Miles" and "Yours to Hold" before bed. :)

FINALLY after LONG last, I have *gasp* actually updated Five Hundred Miles!!

It's very action intensive, so it takes a whole chapter to cover about ten minutes of time *rolls eyes* but at least the story has started moving again. LOL now I just have to make sure I don't forget what I intended to have happen! ;P

Hungry - Kaname x Zero



"Kaname... I was in the middle of setting the table for dinner...!" Zero protested half-heartedly between warm, incredibly distracting kisses.

"Mmm... dinner can wait, Zero..." Kaname's voice hummed softly against his lips. Zero's taste was intoxicating and it filled his senses utterly.

Zero groaned, knowing he was quickly losing this battle and not feeling too sorry. "You've been gone several days, aren't you... " his breath hitched as their lips brushed. "Hungry?" he panted softly, his voice a mere whisper now, his face coloring softly in the candle light.

The pureblood met his lover's gaze with a deep smile that melted the ex-human right to the soles of his shoes. "Oh yes, Zero. I'm very hungry..." he purred.

I have such trouble with kissing pics, I think this shall be my last attempt. It turned out okay, although Kaname's eyes gave me such fits that I eventually cropped the picture to remove them completely. *rolls eyes* ah to actually be artistically talented... *sniffs* oh well, at least I have fun and hopefully others will enjoy a bit as well. :)

Oh and for anyone who is wondering, yes, the bracelet Kaname's wearing is one of the scent-charmed ones that Aido made for he and Zero in my story Blood Moon. :)

Yaoi lemon warnings definitely apply. :D It's a little angsty at points, but not too much yet. LOL compared to Kaname and Zero, these two still have a much easier go. Although if I carry through on some of the ideas for this fic that I've been having recently... they will have some trying times of their own along the way. :)


Also, I am very happy to say that I have FINALLY finished and posted the Review Responses for the last chapter of Blood Moon! Woo! Been trying to get that done forever. It was like, five pages long in word XD (although it always looks shorter in the actual forum for some reason). And I still didn't manage to really say everything I wanted to to everyone. So let me say again, thank you all SO much for all the wonderful reviews and feedback that Blood Moon received. Means so much to me! :)

I'm worried that not everyone will see them, or think to check for them so long after the story finished... *frets* but hopefully they will.

I am trying to get the next chapter of Five Hundred Miles (Kaname x Zero) done either tomorrow (I can dream... *sigh*) or at least sometime this up coming week. *crosses fingers* It's turning out to take much longer to have what I want to happen, happen, so I might have fibbed about the two chapters left thing. It might end up more like three or four chapters left, we'll see.

Rambly time. I just got Nickleback's new CD "Dark Horse" and I just have to smile because my little Vampire Knight addicted brain manages to pretty much find something VK related or KxZ related in just about every other song. ;)

So... since I subscribe to the mountain climber's motto of "because it's there" only with the twist of "because I can" I'm going to share my thoughts on the tracks that I liked. :)

Burn it to the Ground

Thoughts:
This piece has this great, destructive energy vibe, and I could so see it as the backdrop music for some scene where a bunch of rowdy / bad vampires go on the town to have 'fun' and are totally litterally burning the town to the ground and drinking everything in sight LOL. Meaning that our friendly good vamps would have to go and stop them, of course... *cue loverly vampire vs vampire fight scenes* :D

Thoughts:
One of the things I love about Nickelback is... um... the occasional unabashed and cheerful smuttiness of some of their lyrics. Like "Animals" and "Fight for All the Wrong Reasons". This particular song takes it to a whole new level. XD It also works OH SO WELL for Kaname and Zero, since *cough* vampire stamina would surely make it much more possible for them to carry out the gist of the song than for normal people. :D There's a few lines that don't quite fit or are guy/girl specific, but aside from those, I'd say that the totally insatiable and sensually decadent mood of the song definitely makes me think of our favorite pureblood and ex-human. :D *Is still trying to figure out the logistics of doing it hanging upside down... XD*

Once again, another beautiful love song for Kaname and Zero where the lyrics really say everything that I want to say, so I'll just smile contentedly and nod. *does so*

Thoughts:
This song makes me think of both Kaname and Zero in different ways. Kaname, because it's very much what he's chosen to do - live each day to make it count. He doesn't just sit back and enjoy the status of being a pureblood, etc. He's out there trying to protect those he cares about and make a difference in the world through co-exsistance, etc. Zero, because his life has been an uphill struggle ever since he was turned, yet he's never completely given up. He fought his change and he fought to not lose himself through all that was happening and he especially is painfully aware that he's only got so much time, so make it count.


Okay, and totally shifting artists now, there's another one I heard recently that I really liked so I'll mention it as well. It's not as directly tied to VK as the others I've been talking about, but somehow I still find the tone of the song inspirational. :)

Favorite / most fitting verse:

Thoughts:
The lyrics above are probably the most VK-ish part of the song XD but the whole thing has this great hopeful hopelessness kind of vibe, it gives me this finding beauty in the ashes type feeling, which makes me think of Kaname and Zero in a round about way (cause everything does LOL) and how they've both made the most out of lives that have been so utterly torn apart. :)

Updated my theme again, now that Christmas is over. :) Decided to create a new one. Calling this my "blue roses" theme, for obvious reasons. ;) Once again, I maniped the banner from two different images. Zero kinda looks like he's laying on top of Kaname instead of just resting on his arm, but oh well... LOL

Hmm... *gets all distracted by the things that 'Zero laying on top of Kaname' makes her think...*

Oops! Where was I? XD

Oh yes, anyway, not much else interesting to say right now, but I'm working on a couple of fics and will hopefully be posting something in the next week or so. I'm working on the next chapter of my Shiki x Takuma story "Yours to Hold" of course.

I'm also trying to work on the next chapter of (don't pass out from shock) "Five Hundred Miles" (Kaname x Zero). I know, looong time since I've updated that fic, but it only has about two more chapters to go or so, and I really want to try to get it finished soon-ish-ly. *keeps fingers crossed* We'll see if my muse obliges. *shoots a glare at said muse who is currently apparently much more interested in lounging around on the couch eating left over Christmas candy*

I also have another short story in the works too. It's another Kaname x Zero one. (Generally my stories are both Kaname x Zero and Zero x Kaname as far as topping goes, but I usually default to just saying KxZ because it's a pain to put both there all the time... yeah, sorry, pointless random side note there). It follows off the end of Blood Moon, but it's gonna be a lighter (hopefully) sweet and fluffy fic, cause our boys need some of that in their lives too. ;) Then after that one I'm gonna start on another longer, angstier sequel.

Wow... okay, I have a ton of work ahead apparently! LOL *throws things at her muse to try and get her off the couch*
