VIZ Licenses VK Anime, English VK Fan Book in 2010 and VK on NY Times Best Selling List
"VIZ Media has announced that it has acquired the domestic TV, Home Entertainment, Streaming, DTO, and Merchandising rights to the hit VAMPIRE KNIGHT animated series.
With this license VIZ Media will hold the rights to VAMPIRE KNIGHT for TV (including IPTV and VOD) and Home Video (all platforms including Blu-ray), Streaming, DTO and Merchandising (including digital Merchandise and mobile)."

There's no word yet as far as I am aware as to when to expect an English version of the Anime. I hope that if they dub it, they find some pretty amazing people to do the voices, as they would have to be to live up to the original cast.
Also, the Vampire Knight Fanbook will apparently be coming out in English in September 2010! (There's a brief mention of it here, if you scroll down and look for it)
Big thank you to Isilen for bringing both of these to my attention! :)
I'm especially excited about the fanbook, even if that is almost a whole year away. *sighs* No word on the Novels, but we can only hope that if VIZ is getting the Anime, and putting out the Fanbook, it's only a matter of time until they translate the two Vampire Knight novels as well. *hopes*
There's a part near the end of the article about VIZ getting the Anime rights that caught my interest:
"VAMPIRE KNIGHT manga series is currently published in the US by VIZ Media and continues to keep its place in the Top Ten on The New York Times Best Selling Manga List."
That interested me so I went on over to http://www.nytimes.com/ and found out to my delight that Vampire Knight has been in the top 10 on the New York Times' Best Selling Manga List for the past 8 weeks straight. :D It moves up and down the list as all the titles do. A couple of weeks ago it was up to Number 2, right under Bleach. Right now it's at Number 6 I think.
I didn't realize it was on there, so I think that's pretty darn cool. :)

Yaaaaaaay!!!!!!! I HAVE to know hot to buy the fanbook in english when it's released, I hope VIZ would sell and send to another countries as well!!
You're lucky, dear. In Spain we only know that Panini, the publishing company, will keep selling the whole manga, but there's nothing about the fanbook or the novels :C Even if VK is (I think) the more popular shojo here, too.

VaneCaos: Yess!!! I know, I'm going to be counting down to when I can get it. :D I imagine they'll sell it on Amazon.com and places like that, like they do with the manga, so hopefully it should be accesible to everyone.
But if for any reason you can't get them to ship it to you, let me know and I could always get it for you here and ship it to you if you wanted. They mustn't keep such lovely merchandise from us fans, oh no, no, no! :D
YenGirl: Yeah!!! :D

I think that ANN (Anime News Network) reported a few weeks back that VIZ is aiming for an early 2010 release (first quarter)
