My Vampire Heart

Just a warning... there be spoilers ahead.

Finally saw the final episode of Vampire Knight Guilty without interruptions, yay! It was lovely, it was just lovely. Sad, happy, bittersweet, hopeful... I smiled and I cried. :) I was so relieved that they didn't kill anybody off, although I kinda thought they might not in the anime at least, since the manga is still on going. :) I'm such a sucker, I cried so much. I teared up when Kaname dropped to his knees in front of Yuki like that. It was so beautiful to see him so moved and finally look a little hopeful and happy. I cried through Zero and Yuki's entire scene together... so lovely and so angsty, oh they have got to work things out eventually so that Zero knows they don't have to be enemies just cause she's a pureblood now. I sniffled at the unresolved question of what happened with/to Takuma and liked the way Shiki resolved to find him and return his sword. :) I smiled and hiccuped in fond amusement as Aido and Ruka fought over Kaname's bag... XD So many emotions in such a small span of time. But yup, basically, I ran through a lot of tissues on that ep. ;)

OH and I loved that Kaname and Zero actually ended up kinda working together in a way to ultimately defeat Rido. :D

Naturally, I wish it could have gone on forever, and I wish everybody could be completely happily-ever-after, but ultimately, I feel they ended it pretty good. It's got enough closure to feel like an ending, but they left it open enough that:
A) they could do another season sometime if they wanted to, and
B) you can work things out in your own mind and find ways to give everybody (*huggles Zero tightly*) an eventual happy ending.

*sighs contentedly* Yes, if it had to end now instead of whatever way the manga will eventually end, I think they did pretty good. Although of course, me, myself and I over here are still in total favor of an AU threesome ending, buuut... ;D (happily takes the open ending and leads it to that eventual conclusion in her mind) LOL okay, sorry, I'm really hopeless and I will shut up now. :D

OMG... that picture makes me fangirl Zero and Ichiru so much. *has an overwhelming desire to hug them* They look so yummy and so angsty there.

I know it's meant to go with "Rondo", by ON/OFF which it totally does, but it also makes me think of a couple of verses from a song called "Machine Head" by Bush. Mostly because of the presence of the wheel. ;)

Hi everyone! I survived the holidays... barely... LOL. ;D

Let me just say now for the record, that if someone you love keeps ordering you drinks at a party... don't just keep drinking them. You will do stupid things, take regrettable pictures on your camera phone, and send them to people you didn't intend to. And you will want to die the next day. LOL Personal experience? Me? Neeeever.... ;P

Otherwise, however, my holidays were actually really good. I hope everyone else's were too. :)

Now I'm back to work and trying to catch up on everything.

I caught up on VKG 12 yesterday, and have been trying to watch VKG 13 today around work on Veoh. LOL but I haven't managed to get all the way through it yet as I keep getting interrupted. Darn, why do they actually expect me to WORK? ;) I also have a ton of delightful fics to catch up on, and fics to write... :)

SPOILERS AHEAD:

Thus far, and from the summary I read, the last episode looks really good. I will wait to comment on it further though until I've had a chance to really watch all the way through.

For VKG 12, very briefly, the parts I liked best were:

The Chairman: He was totally SQUEE inducing in this ep. I mean... wow. He was hot and bad ass and totally wonderful in protector mode. Sweeeet. Liked Yagari in protective / slightly banged up mode too. :D :D

The Night Class: Although the reasoning that got them there may have been a bit dubious, I liked that they were all there with Yuki facing Rido because it gave them a part of the action. Them all being imobilized, and having Rido's ex-humans set on them was also very pleasing to the angst-loving side of me. LOL especially on Aido, cause I tend to like him best of that group. XD Plus, Yuki defending them was nice and it's kind of fun that in a way Zero also ends up protecting them, even if he was really only aiming to protect Yuki. :D

Aido: Loved how protective he was of Yuki, totally more worried about what was happening to her than the creepy vamp lackies who were nuzzling and sizing him up for a snack.

Rido x Yuki: It was a little sad that Rido was more "creepy and evil" than "creepy and lost" like he was in the manga, but at the same time, I think perhaps for the anime, it was better for them not to try to go for the level of subtlety of character that Ms. Hino manages to interject into the manga, as I'm not sure they could have pulled it off and it might have just been confusing if they didn't. That said, I actually kind of liked the upped sexual tension of when Rido was getting ready to bite Yuki and he's going on about Juri and when he bit her... *shivers* total non-con vibes there, which makes you utterly wonder about that bit of back story.

Actually, I have to smile here, because that moment in the anime reminded me very, very vaugely of the way I had Rido tormenting Kaname with his mother's rape waaaay back in "Crimson Door". The two situations were not really much similar, but it was just the way he was talking about Juri that made me think of that I guess.

Zero: I liked that since they are at the end rather than the middle like the manga, they had him protective of Yuki at this point instead of cold towards her. That was really sweet to see, at least I thought so. The whole arm thing... was... weird... and I did not get what was up with the needing to be cut thing, but we'll just gloss over that, shall we...? ;P Again, I like that he actually saved the nobles too even if unintentionally. :D

Kaname: He kept a very somber, angsty, sadly determined tone throughout which just made me want to hug him. People turning into ash as he walks by = *shivers!* :) The moment between he and Takuma was just beautiful. Also - very cool seeing him in ancestor mode with lovely even longer hair in the beginning. :D

Okay, there were actually more things too, but I am out of time so I have to stop now. The ep was very different from the manga in many ways, but I get that at this point, it has to be in order to wrap things up instead of segueing into the next arc. There were a couple of changes I didn't care for, but there were a couple that I liked quite a bit, so it evens out I think.

Can't wait to get to really see ep13! :)

OMG.

Vampire Knight Chapter 46 is out! Once again, Sagakure out did herself getting it scanlated for us so quickly and wonderfully. Thank you!!! *big hugs*

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD

Wow, just... wow. SO much in this chapter. VERY emotionally impactful on so many levels. It has left me semi-coherent! Kaname and Zero fighting... *shivers and thinks they both look way too hot for their own good* ;) Kaname's hand...! O_O *shivers and winces* The Bloody Rose being kinda creepy and drinking Zero's blood...! *shivers and winces yet again* And Yuki being very lovely throughout. *smiles* I liked her much more than I usually do. Which is not to say I usually don't like her, it's just... I liked her more here.

I can't stay on long, since I've had to lock myself in the bedroom with my laptop in order to get a moment's peace around a houseful of holiday guests, but you know, some things are just a priority... Like reading the next chapter of Vampire Knight... XD

SO, quick impressions of things I liked in the chapter...

Kaname and Zero - they were both angsty and awesome. *feels the strange urge to weep for some reason, although she liked the chapter* oooh... I absolutely loved seeing Kaname all wrapped up in those vines. *nosebleeds* ;D

One of the things I liked about the chapter is that we get to see some really nice emotion from all people involved. There's a panel when Kaname's talking to Yuki and trying to say he won't forgive Zero for pointing the gun at her, even if she hates him... which of course he ends up not following through on cause she doesn't want he and Zero to hurt each other (despite what he said I don't think he could live with her hating him ever. LOL Much like despite what Zero says, I don't think he could ever bring himself to kill her... he already had that chance, and proved he wasn't ready to take it *teary smile*). But anyway, I just couldn't help thinking that the passion on Kaname's face in that one panel was very delicious. He's always so controlled and we don't very often get to see unbridled emotion on his features. So I couldn't help liking that *melts*

Yuki licking his severed hand was also very sweet in a way that is only possible in a vampire setting! :) Of course, the whole situation also showed Kaname's control, in that he'd just lost his HAND and he gave almost no indication of what must have been pretty severe pain. LOL he was too busy being ticked that Zero pointed the gun at Yuki... XD It was really sweet how he obviously didn't care much about himself, or what Zero had done to him, but even look wrong at Yuki and you'd better watch out... ;) shows Kaname's very protective nature. *smiles gently at him*

Another moment I liked a lot was when Yuki helps Zero / breaks the connection between him and the Bloody Rose and it obviously hurt when those vines yanked out of him. LOL yes, I'm a sadist, but Zero is so hot and angst inspiring when he's in pain... *wants to hug him, but lets him hug Yuki instead* ;D The idea that the weapon itself was sucking from him like that is quite scary and leads me to wonder what may happen with him and it in the future. O.O

His and Yuki'swhole scene together after that was really touching and bittersweet. It made me want to cry. I ache so for Zero, and I hope that through the course of wherever the next arc takes us he is able to find a purpose for his life other than just eradicating all pureblood vampires. It was intensely sad and beautiful, the way Yuki said that in that case, she would run from him forever, so he'd have to go on living, since he'd always have an enemy left to fight. Kind of reminds me of the way she was afraid of what would happen if he killed Shizuka, that he would have no more purpose to go on. But he did find some reason still then... and I have to hope he will again.

I really want an eventual happy ending for everybody involved, although I'm not sure that's possible or likely, however things ultimately turn out. Yet it's interesting that it's becoming more obvious that this has shifted from feeling like the ending of one arc, into now feeling like the beginning of another. At least to me anyway. I get this feeling like everything is being arranged for the next series of events, wherever they will take us. All the peices moved around on the board... LOL *gasp* okay, I see now... Ms. Hino is really the master chess player here. ;D I look forward to seeing where the game shall take us.

Okay, well, I have to go now... this is the fourth time someone's knocked on the door wondering where I am, so... >_< *tosses hugs and waves as she has to leave* Happy Holidays everyone!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :D

Like my Christmas theme? I'll revert again after the holidays, but I thought our boys needed a little holiday cheer. :D I manipped / partially drew / created the banner (didn't draw the good parts of Kaname and Zero obviously, LOL that's official art, I just pieced it together and did everything else). Not too great, but Christmasy anyway. XD

Due to the holidays and the family craziness, etc. that is currently ensuing, I'm probably not going to be around much from now until after Christmas. I might be able to pop in occasionally, but I won't really be around full time again until the 29th. So in case I don't get a chance to say it closer to time, I hope everyone has a really great holiday and that Santa leaves lots of hot vampires under everybody's Christmas trees... *giggles* ERM... okay... maybe not... ;)

Wow! Well, after living and breathing this story for what feels like a really long time, I finally completed my Kaname x Zero story Blood Moon. Yay! They get to live happily ever after... until I get the craving to write about them again anyway. LOL

Actually, I have a number of stories I want to write, depending on how time and inspiration go. I have a sweet little fluff fic that I probably want to do first, then another more involved, longish story... well, we'll see. I also want to finish Five Hundred Miles!

Blood Moon (Kaname x Zero) by Blackened Wing has been updated with it's final chapter.
Chapter 30: "We'll Always be Together"

LOL I didn't realize until afterwards that I ended both Crimson Door and Blood Moon in graveyards. Same graveyard both times to be exact. *chuckles* Actually though, it kind of gives it a full-circle feeling I guess. Or at least I hope so. XD

Although Blood Moon and Crimson Door were both 30 chapters long, I think I must have had some signficantly longer chapters in Blood Moon, because it was around 70 pages longer!

Total Blood Moon MS Word page count, single spaced, 11pt font: 388 pages.

I haven't forgotten about Yours to Hold either, but like I said before, the posting is probably going to be a little slower going on that one. It's coming along though.

I'm going to have to put all my writing on hold for a couple weeks though, I don't think I'll really have a chance to get any more chapters done during the holidays, but after Christmas things will settle down back to normal again.

I should be sleeping. Or if not, I should be doing something useful. But of course, I'm not. LOL

Actually, I'm waiting up for a phone call from a friend of mine who's in some trouble. :S *yawn* but I am going to hate myself tomorrow when I have to get up for work. Soo... of course I'm sitting here thinking of Kaname and Zero related things to pass the time. I'm too dead tired to write anything on my serious stories, but I was listening to music and was unduly amused by Framing Hanley's remix of a song called "Lollipop". *grins and coughs*

It was in my playlist and I must have heard it at least three or four times before I actually paid attention to the lyrics. XD I'm sure it's just that I'm punchy because of how tired I am and that's why it's striking me as so funny, but the tune is curiously addictive. O.o

Somehow, that spawned this absolutely ridiculous and pointless little fic. I'm not going to post it on FF.net, just here. LOL I probably shouldn't even post it here, since anything written at 2am in the morning when one can hardly keep their eyes open should probably be treated as highly suspect. Buuuut... whatever. This is just for laughs, so I'm sorry if our boys are OOC at all and that it has absolutely no plot, but if it's terrible, then at least you can laugh at how terrible it is. XD

Worth mentioning that I've never heard the original song that Framing Hanley was redoing here, just their version, so that is the version that this ficlet uses.

Summary: Kaname and Zero are at a nightclub looking for someone and hear a song while they're waiting that sparks some amusement.

Warnings: Just a little suggestiveness and an implied established m/m relationship.

Pairings: Kaname x Zero

Zero shot Kaname a sidelong glance as they settled by the bar, resigned to waiting while the hostess tried to find the man they sought amid the seething mass of people dancing on the club floor under the eye popping strobe lights.

They'd been to clubs before, but not this particular type. Zero was sure that the pureblood must hate it. The music was loud, the lights were flashing and roving and there were so many people in here that it made even Zero feel a tiny claustrophobic. Kaname's extra senses must be killing him, but the pureblood was doing a good job of remaining a picture of calm.

Zero was right, however. Inwardly, Kaname couldn't wait until they could get out of this place. In an effort to distract himself, he tried to focus on individual scents or sounds in order to block out the full-out assault that all of them together caused upon his senses.

He listened to Zero's fingers drumming on the bar, unconsciously in time with the beat of the music. The music itself caught his attention after a moment. It was so loud in the club that Kaname's ears were ringing and his head was pounding with the press of humanity around them, so he wasn't sure he'd quite heard the song verse correctly and he gave Zero a quizzical, slightly embarrassed, slightly amused expression.

"Zero, did he just say that she licks me...?"

"Like a lollipop," Zero confirmed, gaze fixed resolutely out towards the dance floor, hoping to see the hostess returning. His tone was so serious and his attempts to not be embarrassed by the song that was loudly blasting over the amped up speakers so obvious that it increased Kaname's amusement even more.

"I don't believe that "jerp" is a word..." the pureblood remarked after a moment, unable to help blinking at the unexpected explicitness of the lyrics if you actually paid attention to them. The song would have seemed more lewd if the tune wasn't so darn catchy. Half of it seemed to him to be in a different language, however. "And what the heck are laylelums?" he added.

Zero mumbled something that sounded like: "mehmemums..." and Kaname raised his eyebrows.

"What?" he asked, raising his voice to be heard above the dull roar of the club. Zero's mumble was again too soft to be heard and Kaname gave him a frustrated look. "You know what this place is doing to my ears, Zero, speak up can't you?"

Zero glared at him. "Lady lumps, all right?" he repeated, raising his voice in a growl. "Not laylelums! I'd like to touch your lovely lady lumps," he repeated the song lyrics in exasperation, only to realize that he was talking louder than he'd intended. He glanced around quickly, cheeks flushing very attractively. He gave Kaname a dirty look as if wondering if the other vampire was intentionally making him translate the embarrassing song lyrics to him. Yet it was obvious that Zero was a little amused as well, despite himself.

The expression on Kaname's face was worth the momentary discomfort, though. The pureblood looked both amused and non-pulsed in that sort of awkward way which said he wasn't quite sure how to react to this little cultural experience. "Oh, you mean their..."

"YES. SHUT UP."

Kaname looked about ready to say something else, when the song went into a extended new refrain that made both vampires flush slightly and look at each other. Zero started laughing first, then Kaname lost his struggle with the chuckles shaking in his chest as well. It was just too embarrassingly funny for some reason. Maybe just because they were there together and paying way too much attention to such small, ridiculous things.

"I never really thought of it as juicy before..." Kaname gasped softly amid contained mirth.

Zero looked like he wanted to kill him, if only he could stop choking on repressed laughter long enough to do so. Maybe in reality this was so amusingly mortifying because the two of them could identify with both sides of the song, at least as far as the... er... lollipop angle went.

The hostess returned and gave the two flushed, laughing men a polite, bemused look as if questioning their sanity. She did not comment however, and merely informed them that the party they were looking for was not here, he'd probably gone to check on one of his other clubs. She would be glad to give them a call if he returned.

Kaname and Zero thanked her and left, only too glad to get out of the crowded club. As they exited out onto the darkened street, Kaname shot Zero a look. "Do you want to lick the wrapper?" he inquired with a wicked gleam in his eyes, the strong upward twitching at the corners of his mouth the only thing that ruined his deadpan expression.

As intended, it tipped Zero over the edge of his control again, back into a coughing fit of laughter. "Oh, shut up!" he choked in a wheeze. "Or I'll give you lovely black and blue lumps."

Kaname shook his head, laughing as they walked away.

Yeaaah... Like I said, insanity and over tiredness is my only defense on this one. LOL


Oh, apropos of nothing... my old computer died Monday night, and I had to get a new one. Ever since then I've been on the long and sometimes trying odyssey of getting a new system set up, software installed, data moved and a ton of other little things that you totally forget you need to do until you suddenly are faced with a brand new system that seems to do nothing quite the way you want it to. ;P

Oookay. If I the phone hasn't rung soon, I really need to go to bed... *still giggling about lollipops, proving that she is pretty much certifiably insane*

Alrighty then! Just updated my Kaname x Zero story Blood Moon. We're getting very close to the end of that story now, and I think that this chapter is one a lot of people have been waiting for... because the "L" word finally comes out. :D I know, took them bloody long enough, right? LOL

On another topic, my Vampire Knight Alarm Clock came this past week! And I finally had a chance to take pictures of it to post. :D My wonderful friend Sagakure helped me buy it, since you had to get it through a deputy shopper in Japan and all, as they weren't shipping directly out of the country, etc. etc. *sends huge hugs* Thanks again my friend!!! :)

The clock plays a phrase from each of the characters featured on it's face: Kaname, Zero, Yuki, Aido, Kain, Ichijo & Shiki. They're in Japanese of course, but Sagakure told me the translation of what they say. (Please note that the following translation is hers and belongs to her, not me).

Yuuki: "Hey, hey, wake up! If you don't, I'll 'attack' you!! Just joking, haha! Ok, let's go for it!!

Zero: "Tss, come on already!! I'm not waking you up again, so get up this time!! Whaaat?! Stop being spoiled! I'll pull off the futon!!"

Kaname: "You're so cute. No, don't wake up, just stay that way with your eyes closed. Just joking, I'd prefer if you open your eyes. Look at me..."

Aidou: "It's time!! Quick, we have to hurry!! If we are late, Kaname-sama will punish us!...In a way so horrible that we'd lose memory of it and... wait, you're saying you want to be punished by him? NO WAY! Don't drag me into being punished also!!"

Cain: "Hmm... The clock just rang? Hey, wake up!! You have things to do, get going. I'll be waiting for you to return, don't worry."

Ichijou: "Aah, it's such a pleasant morning, sleepyhead. What, a wake-up kiss? Noooo way. But get up and I'll give you a reward."

Shiki: "Wake up... hey, wake up... Come on, wake up..... I love you... not even saying this worked...?"

LOL! So much fun. *bounces happily and plays her clock over and over again until her fiance threatens to move out* LOL XD

Oh, I also got the latest issue of LaLa last week. :D I actually have a subscription to it now, so I got one last month and this month. They don't get here until a week or so after it comes out, but that's fine, it's just great having a physical copy. Plus, I can scan stuff when I want to use it, etc. There was this little calandar / postcard thing in the latest issue that had a bunch of different manga people in it, but I scanned the one for Vampire Knight. I know I've seen this pic already posted other places, but I thought it was sweet and just had to share it as well.

It's the Kuran family as they might have been if tragedy had not struck. :) I find it cute the way it looks like Juri's kinda hanging on / hugging Kaname and Haruka's got his hand on Yuki's shoulder. :) Kaname and Haruka look soooooo darn hot, too.... *drools* LOL

Summary: Against Shiki's misgivings, Ichijo goes home with him for holiday break to meet his mother. Ichijo wants only to be supportive, but there are secrets in that house which Shiki desperately does not want his lover to discover, and a choice that the young vampire does not want to have to make.

Warnings: Yaoi (m/m). Themes of implied F/m child abuse and mild incest. Other warnings may be added to individual chapters as the story progresses depending on how things unfold.

Wow. Okay, so it's not even noon yet and it has been a very weird day. I was out of the office yesterday, still working, but I had a meeting with some contributors at their location as I sometimes have to do and it took most of the day.

I've been really sick the past few days, so I feel really weird and groggy and medicated, you know how it is. So I had weird, restless dreams all last night (at least one VK one, which I will get to in a minute :D). I dragged myself into the office this morning... and it was like a graveyard. Half the cubes around me are empty, which just never happens, especially since I was myself a few minutes late and everyone else should have already been there. Then there's this cryptic email about a staff meeting in ten minutes.

So I'm sitting in my little office listening to the crickets and wondering where everyone is when one of the guys I work with comes by and is like: oh yeah, you were out, did you hear the news? Turns out, half my department was let go yesterday. O__O

I had no idea revenues were down so badly. It was very sudden, not like when you know they're going through layoffs and waiting around for the axe to fall. It was just like now you see them, now you don't. At the meeting everyone who was still there was assured that our jobs were safe (Geez, they cut any more of us and they won't have a magazine anymore... so yeah, I mostly believe them...) and of course we were given the 'we all have to pitch in together' speech, which translates to: you're going to have to handle a lot more work now, so smile, step up to it and be glad you still have jobs. LOL

So, that, including my heavily medicated and miserable state, has made for a very weird morning. I feel really bad for the people who were let go. I knew at least three of them really well. :(

On a slightly more cheerful / interesting note, I had a VK dream last night. :D Weird, of course, as dreams tend to be, but hey, it was VK. ;)

At first I was Kaname and I was running, trying to catch up with a train that Yuki, Zero and Cross were on because they were in some kind of danger. I don't think I quite got there in time, because then I wasn't Kaname anymore and I was just watching, but they were all on the train and Yuki was hurt. It seemed like she was delirious or something, because she was mumbling something to the effect that Kaname had abandoned her for the 10 years she was human and why didn't he take her with him, or something like that. And Kaname was crying 'cause there was nothing else he could have done, he couldn't have kept her safe if he kept her with him. Zero and Cross were both feeling akward and trying to make everybody feel better.

LOL even my dreams are angsty apparently, even if they don't entirely make sense. Not sure what happened after that exactly. There was this vauge notion that we had to get off the train quickly, but I really can't remember anything else distinct beyond that.

Well, back to work for me. *continues listening to the eerie silence around her cube*

AND I actually got to watch it Woo! I have also finally caught up and watch Eps 7 & 8 as well. Ah... happiness. :D

Can't remotely remember all the things about all the eps I wanted to mention, but of course I loved the Kaname x Yuki moments with her awakening and the blood sharing and all. :D

Also the young Kaname scenes were quite delightful. The one in the last ep, when Haruka dies while he's holding Kaname and Kaname is cupping / caressing his cheek is just lovely. *sniffles*

Also, the previous two eps have greatly increased my Shiki x Ichijo moe. (Completely unrelatedly, it's hillarious what this fandom has done to my vocubulary. There's so many words I never used before or had ever even heard before - like, for example, "moe" LOL which formerly only brought to mind one of the Three Stooges. But since I've gotten into manga and VK, it now has an entirely different meaning to me and is beginning to slip into my normal speech, much to my amusement and (when people start looking at me strange) chagrin. LOL!)

There was an interesting added scene in... um... either 7 or 8 (just watched them together, can't remember which is which) where Shiki/Rido actually goes after / practically assaults Ruka. Kain interestingly enough sensed something was wrong and shows up to get in the way, much to the delight of Kain x Ruka fans everywhere. XD Takuma shows up quickly and gets in between, both trying to protect Shiki and get Rido to leave the others alone. I had to feel so sorry for Ichijo there. It was bad enough in the situation when he stepped between Shiki and Kaname (I still think Kaname understood that Takuma was only protecting Shiki's body, and the whole 'on the council's side' thing was for Rido's benefit, to keep Takuma safe since Rido obviously was using him as a pawn). But Kain and Ruka don't know that it isn't Shiki, and don't have any idea why Takuma is acting so weird. Rido totally pulls the whole pureblood thing on Takuma like: you're telling me what to do? And Takuma is in such a hard spot of obviously being desperate to protect the others, to protect Shiki's body, and being unable to defy or challenge Rido. He practically begged Rido to leave and I wanted to hug him very much. LOL

Also, they had a scene where Shiki/Rido was drinking from a couple of unconcious human girls and Takuma's trying very hard to keep him from killing them. Shiki/Rido says something about it being Kaname's ideals / influence on him. :D I don't remember if that was in the manga or not, but if it was I don't remember it.

So anyway, those couple of scenes multiplied the SxT bunnies hopping around in my head. *decides that Shiki starting to regain some of his missing memories might make for some lovely angst* XD Actually, although it doesn't fit into my plot bunnies at the moment, it also leaves a lot of room for a very angsty AU Shiki/Rido x Takuma semi non-con scene, if Rido figured out that Takuma had feelings for Shiki and took advantage of that just for fun.

Oh, another completely unrelated aside, I forgot to mention, when I saw Twilight the other day, there was a trailer before it for the next Harry Potter movie coming out. And although, having been quite an HP fan, I am very aware that the title says Half Blood Prince, for a moment my mind blinked and tried to put Pure in there instead, which just tells you where my mind is most of the time. ;)

So many other things I want to ramble about... but I'm so sleepy *yawns* must go to bed... *waves and crawls off*

I saw the Twilight movie after work tonight with one of the gals I work with. I haven't read the books, but I enjoyed the movie. Of course... I spent the entire thing sitting there unable to help popping certain other vampires into a scenario when it was particularly interesting. XD

I was constantly like: I bet Kaname could climb trees like that... Aww... he has the "I'm not a monster" angst going on like Zero... Whoa! Way to stop a car with your fist, I wanna use that somewhere! LOL Or in the beginning, when Edward (a vampire but you're not supposed to know that yet) is looking ill and having to cover his mouth and be very rude to Bella (human girl and inevitable love interest) I couldn't help smiling and being all like: oooh, poor thing, she's triggered his blood lust and he's trying not to vamp out in class... Yes, I am hopeless.

But really, comparing the two was inevitable, especially since the reason I went to see Twilight in the first place was because of my current interest in vampires due to VK. ;)

Actually, I think Vampire Knight fans in general are likely to like the movie, and Twilight fans would probably like VK if they knew it existed. ;) They had some distinct themes in common, such as good vampires who have chosen a vegetarian, / pacifist way of life and don't drink human blood, different vampires having different kinds of powers, etc. And of course, the ever-classic vampire guy falling for human girl, although a lot of vampire stories have that in common.

The Cullen 'family' (all vampires) was cute in its functional disfunctionality and kind of gave me Night Class vibes (just less formal), especially when they were at school. Dr. Cullen, except for actually being a vampire himself, had a lot in common with Chairman Cross too as far as his pacifist ideals and the way he looked after his 'children'. :)

They also had the whole 'look human to blend in / hunt better / attract prey' thing going on too. I couldn't help liking the way Edward's anguish played out when he's trying to convince Bella that she should be afraid of him, reminded me a lot of Kaname letting Yuki see him drink Ruka's blood to try and do about the same thing.

My other two favorite moments were Edward driving way too fast and telling Bella she needed to distract him so he didn't go back and rip the heads off the the dumb thugs who had intended to assault her. (LOL tell me you could not see someone else we know and love doing that...? XD)

And Vampire Baseball in the rain. LOL LOVED the way they played. ;) (They could only do it when a thunderstorm was coming because they hit the balls so hard it sounded like thunder ;D)

Of course, there are a lot of differences too. The Twilight vamps are a little more like traditional vampires than the VK ones, in that all vampires are made by being turned, they don't eat normal food, don't sleep, have cold skin, etc.

The plot was a trifle predictable, but still interesting and left a lot of room for future development, as it was based off of the first book in a series, although I don't know if they'll be making more movies or not. All in all I found the movie enjoyable and good for encouraging more VK moe among those of us who are hopelessly bent in that direction... namely, uh, me... ;D
