Okay, I'm obviously feeling very unmotivated to work today. XD
I just got back from lunch. It was fun because I tried this new mango drink I haven't had before and when it arrived it turned out to be reddish in color and look totally like it could be disloved blood tablets. *nod nod*
Because I'm a goober, I had to take pictures of it and of me playing with - er - I mean drinking it with my camera phone. XD

Oh, word of explination about the bit of my shirt you can see in the pic. I'm wearing my night class uniform, but I have a red silk shirt on under the jacket instead of black. It gets really warm in my office, so I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep the jacket on all day and the black shirt that came with the costume doesn't look very nice without the jacket over it. My red shirt does. ;) Yeah... like you really wanted to know. LOL
While I'm being silly and random, I shall also mention that eating LifeSavers with fangs is very fun and interesting because you can hook the hole in the center on one of the fangs while you suck on it...
*smiles and shows her fangs* It's funny how many people don't even notice them. XD Makes it all the more believable that there could be vampires secretly living among us... *giggles*
Does make it difficult to snack though as chewing is complicated. LOL Hmm... actually, this is good... I should wear these fangs more often, might help my diet! XD
It's fun to drink while wearing them though cause they hug the edge of the cup nicely and you can pretend you're sinking your fangs into it. ;D Yes... I am a complete fan goober. But if you've read this blog for any length of time you already know that, soo... no surprise there. XD

I was a genius last night and stayed up until 3 or 4 am watching scary movies on TV in the dark with my Fiancé. LOL Or rather, he fell asleep and I stayed cuddled up very close beside him and watched them. XD
Then, I go to sleep, and do I have nightmares about ghosts or abandoned houses or things like that? Nooo... I have nightmares about work and spreadsheets and unfinished project deadlines... :P My mind is stupid.
Anyway, being as it's that time of the year, I had the funny thought: Gee, what would a Vampire dress up as for Halloween? So that lead me to wondering, if the people in VK dressed up for Halloween (or for a masquerade ball or whatever if you want a more refined setting), what do you think they'd dress up as?
I thought it would be fun to toss that question out and see if anybody had any ideas they want to share.
What would you like to see Kaname, Zero, Yuki, Takuma, Aido, Kain, Shiki, Ruka, Rima, Cross, Yagari, Yori or anybody else from VK dress up as for Halloween? (Pick as many or as few as you like).
Bonus question if you feel like it: Do you celebrate / dress up for Halloween? If so, what are you going to be this year? Or what would you be if you did?
I'm going to be a vampire again this year. LOL I know, big shock, right? I have to work on Halloween itself, and costumes are allowed, so I'm gonna wear my full VK Night Class get up and fangs to the office. It's great because the uniform actually looks like a suit, so I'll still be somewhat business-y... unless people look a little closer. *smiles and shows fangs*
Finally updated Blood Moon! Mleh... I feel like the chapter sucks, there's too much talking, thinking, flashbacks and POV shifts, but I can't seem to make it any better so... hopefully it will still be okay. Maybe I've just been looking at it too long. That happens sometimes. :P

The chapter is very Zero-centric and gives a lovely, angsty glance into his thoughts and memories and feelings. *hugs him* The poor thing has been through so much, I'm so glad Yuki's been there for him, and able to see through his moody and sometimes downright mean behavior to the pain and fear underneath.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!
I think my favorite part is the segment where Zero's been having night terrors (such a compelling picture of angst he made with his hands over his face like that!) and Yuki strokes his head gently and tells him that it's okay, she'll stay with him and pet his hair so he can feel safe and fall back asleep (paraphrasing badly LOL). She says she understands, because when she was afraid, someone with very gentle hands did the same for her. :D *cough* Kaname *cough*. :D
Then it transitions to the scene when Kaname first came to the house after Zero's moved in (the moments right before Zero tried to stab him LOL) and the first thing Zero saw of Kaname was him petting Yuki's head. It's SO cool that later he put the peices together and realizes, or at least wonders if that's the person Yuki was talking about, and if the gentle kindness he sees in her was in fact fostered / protected / encouraged by the pureblood... *soft happy squee at having Zero think such things in reguards to Kaname even if he is all angsty and upset at the time*
Actually I really liked the way they did that whole part, because it's an interesting explination of why (aside from Kaname being a pureblood and therefore feeling like Shizuka, which was not a good association for Zero LOL) Zero reacted so angrily to him, and continued to feel so afterwards too. I may be extrapolating a bit here, but you could look at it that Kaname as seen through his relationship to Yuki, represented something Zero couldn't accept - the possilibity that a vampire could be good or kind... could be in an un-litteral way human. Later in that same flashback, inturrupting his train of thoughts, Zero flips out because he sees the visible proof that he is indeed becoming a vampire and the way that transition is handled can't help but make me think that it's all tied together - Zero can't accept that vampires might be able to be good, because he can't accept that he himself is becoming anything but a monster... poor thing!
It was very cool to see those moments though, when he's first starting to feel the change, first becoming aware of the faint tug of thirst / hunger at the scent of Yuki's blood, etc.
And of course... *smiles fondly* back in the present, he can't actually bring himself to shoot at Yuki, even with his despairing desire to end it all. He wishes she would kill him... aww... *sniffles and hugs*
Oookay, um, totally rambled there. *glances around* now I'd better get back to, I dont' know... maybe some actual work! LOL
KYA! It's the episode with the flashbacks of Little Kaname and Little Aido! :D :D *is happy* I loved that in the manga, and it's equally delightful in the Anime. In season one I was not happy with the way they drew young Kaname, but I am very pleased with the way they did him in this episode. :D Sooo cute. Aido too! Aido was cute the rest of the episode also... LOL actually, there were a lot of really nice shots of him in this ep that reminded me just how hot he is. *chuckles*
They changed things up / combined them a bit, so this was also the ep where Aido's playing runaway and hiding out with Zero and Yuki, and those parts really made me smile. ;D
Well, it doesn't look like I'm going to get the next chapter of Blood Moon done this weekend. :P Sorry, writing has just been going really slow on it, but it's coming along and I'll post it as soon as it's done. I've also got another little AU scene for Blood Moon Chapter 22 that I need to proof and tweak a little more and I'll be posting that too soon-ish-ly. LOL yes, I know... I just can't seem to leave well enough alone with this story... ;)
In the meantime though, since none of those are ready yet, I thought I'd post another little story I wrote a while ago, but never posted. It's a (long) one-shot stand-alone story that does not relate to my other two series. Be aware that it's very dark, angsty and painful at points, although I do end it happy. :)
Summary: Despite himself, Zero is losing himself to darker and darker dreams each time he sates his need with Kaname's blood. When dream and reality merge dangerously, Kaname pays the price.
Warnings: Graphic yaoi (m/m) non-con / rape. Do NOT read if this bothers you.
Pairings: Zero x Kaname – with Yuki thrown in, but not involved. Possible future threesome hints.
"Blood Moon" is the name of the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon nearest the autumnal equinox. It is also called the "Hunter's Moon". :)
Of course, when I hear 'hunter' I think something entirely different than normal people. ;) And yes, that is actually a very, very small part of the reason why I named my story that, although to be honest it was mostly because I thought it sounded cool and because of the first chapter. XD
Sangria [san-GREE-uh] is a drink made with red wine, fruit juices, soda water, fruit and sometimes liqueurs and brandy or cognac. It gets its name from its color, because Sangria is derived from the Spanish word for "blood" or "bleeding". XD

...and that's about it for that. LOL Just some randomness I thought I'd share.
I was at the bookstore today after work and I saw that Hino Matsuri's "Wanted" series has finally made it to officially translated into English status. Of course I bought a copy.... :) Only thing that caught me off about it was that in the scanlations the main guy's name was translated as Scar, but in the book it's translated as Skulls. LOL I still think that Armelia looks so much like a young Kaname in some pictures, especially when she's in 'boy' mode:
I mean, doesn't she? Although just a little more feminine, obviously. I just love Ms. Hino's art. Sooo pretty. I wish they would translate all her works. I still haven't been able to find "Captive Heart" anywhere. But since Vampire Knight has been growing in popularity, maybe they'll eventually translate that too like they did with Wanted and the other little bonus story that was at the back. The "Spring Cherry Blossoms" story was also cute, if a little tricky to follow in one or two places. She once again outdid herself drawing goregous people (especially gorgeous guys). XD
Although it's funny because I have to note, of the works of hers I've read, her main guy characters in VK are actually quite a departure from the guys in all her other works as far as personality goes. In both Meru Puri, Wanted and Cherry Blossoms, her guy heroes had a tendancy to be very bossy / agressive / scoundrels / ladies men - all in the very delightful ways of course! (Aram doesn't count as a ladies man since he was techinically um, a KID... but he was definitely bossy and agressive LOL).
In VK Aido is actually most like her previous guy characters in those respects, LOL! Zero exhibits that always-picking-on-Yuki edge like she obviously tends to enjoy portraying, but otherwise he's quite different, since he's got so many self-worth issues going on and is far more angsty than any of her previous characters. (of course, all of VK is far more angsty and serious than her other works, or at least, all of those that I've been able to read). Kaname's character with his particular serious grace and the interesting, complicated line that he walks between light and dark seems to me to be way off in a new direction for her for the most part as it's hard for me to find other comparisons. It's a sign of a good author in my mind that she obviously continues to grow, expand and excell in the depth and bredth of her character creation.
It's cute... I wonder if that's at all part of why she seems to stress so much over how she draws Kaname? In the author sidebar notes in Book 5, she has this funny commentary labled "Kaname will curse me" in which she mentions how she's started saying that a lot because she has the feeling that Kaname's watching her and will be displeased if she draws him incorrectly. LOL
*flies over and starts whispering outside her door "Kaname wants you to draw him without a shirt.... or less..."* mwahahaha! LOL okay, sorry, time for a new topic, as I threaten to digress...

Well, a little later than I intended, but I did finally get to watch it... *cough* a couple of times *cough* Or at least certain scenes... ;)
When Kaname almost bites Yuki, but doesn't was delightful. I've been looking forward to that part, and was not disappointed. I like the way they had him kinda half linger near her face for a few moments too... it was cute because it struck me that he and Zero were very similar at that moment... both coming that close to considering kissing her, but neither going through with it. LOL
Just like in the manga, I love the part where Kaname is resting with his head on Yuki's chest. It's just so... sweet. Kaname looks so tired, so in need of a safe place to rest for a moment and a gentle touch from someone who cares about who he is more than what he is. *sweet sigh* It's cute, I noticed he had his tie kinda mussed when he came in the room, I wonder if he'd tugged on it or something, or if, more likely, it was all the adoring girls trying to impress himself on him down at the party. LOL Can you imagine how trying that would be for someone who wasn't into being the center of attention, and had naturally hyped up senses to be crowded and pawed like that, even respectfully? LOL poor thing.
Of course... my little brain was also going off on an AU tangent inspired by Sagakure and IncaGold27's stories on Kaname and Ichiou's abusive relationship, especially considering Ichiou was at the party in this version, and they'd just had the discussion about Zero / Kaname defying the council in the car earlier. Cause, you know... with a little imagination it's easy to twist Kaname's slightly disheveled clothing and his obvious tiredness and desire to just be held by Yuki into something more angsty... ;)
RIGHT... anyway, moving on to stuff that was actually IN the episode *chuckles* I also liked the way Yagari kept ruffling Zero's hair / patting his head. *giggles* and the fact that Zero, who probably would have taken the hand off anyone else that tried to do that to him, never even gave a hint of reaction out of the ordinary. I look forward to when the subs come out and I know what everyone's saying.
Another moment I loved is when Kaname and Takuma arrive at the party, and everyone bows to Kaname... except Zero, of course, LOL leaving him the only vampire standing as everybody else does. *chuckles*
Aido was so cute too, getting all flustered and horrified when his Dad was trying to push his sister off on Kaname. XD
I'm having a lot of fun bringing Zero's vine powers into play now... :D
I'm so happy and delighted because the wonderful and talented Sagakure made me a pic off of the happy, contented mood of the past few chapters of the story:

Also, Sagakure tells me that Shinsen-subs will be subbing Vampire Knight Guilty, so I imagine one way or another there should be a subbed version out for us sooner or later, and I will post links as soon as I hear of it. :)
I haven't had a chance to watch the raws yet, as I'm stuck at work still *grumbles* but I can't wait to get home and watch it!
Got the next chapter done and posted! :D Some tender lovin' for our two favorite boys... LOL once again, I've managed to end up with pretty much a whole chapter that's nothing but a lemon. And they're not even quite done yet... *chuckles embarressedly at herself*
Unfortunately, I am out of time this evening and haven't had a chance to finish my review responses. So sorry about that, I'll get them up soon as I'm able. But I'm not going to be around tomorrow, or much on Monday, so if I didn't post the chapter now, I probably wouldn't be able to until Tuesday... so I figured people wouldn't mind. ;)
