The final episode of the Vampire Knight Radio show has aired. :) It features Kaname for the most part, with also a bit of the Chairman which was really cute. You can find some info about it in the comments here.

LOL Kaname is so cute and long suffering putting up with the Chairman. I love that he threatens to kill Zero for laughing at him in the other room. ;)

Just added Kain and Kaname's episode to my Vampire Knight Radio Station Page! Cute to hear the two of them together in an episode. Kain sounded just a wee bit flustered on occasion but I don't know, it's hard to read the tone of voice sometimes without knowing what they're saying. LOL also sounded like they were talking about Aido at some points... and Kain sounded long-suffering. *snickers* Also sounds like somebody broke something, which I would imagine was Kaname, but don't know, could have been Kain or something else entirely.

I finally figured out why I have so much trouble accessing the http://www.onsen.ag/program/vampire/ page - I did a trace path on the IP address and there is a server in the chain that must be down, because the trace path always dies and times out there because it does not respond. If I go in through a proxy server, so I'm requesting from a different IP address and get routed to a different path, then it works fine. *growls in frustration* Unfortunatly proxy servers are a pain in the you-know-what about playing media, etc. And it's so hard to get the audio to stream properly so I can record it. *sighs* ah well, at least if I keep trying, it seems to let me in every once in a blue moon. *wishes they would get the stupid server fixed*

Hopefully I will be posting the next chapter of Blood Moon at some point today. :) Just gotta finish the review responses... :)

Okay, I've been re-reading Vampire Knight Volume 5 since I bought it. Given my current interest and obsession with vampire abilities, how they work, etc. I was very interested by the part when Kaname accidentally blasts / warps a hole in the wall next to Takuma. I really like that part because:

1) it shows Kaname struggling to control and integrate the power he absorbed from Shizuka. For some reason I find this immensely fangirlable, especially the way he was holding his head when he apologized to Takuma and said he'd get used to it soon. It was done in a very understated manner, but of course my mind can pull out all kinds of behind the scenes / missing scenes ideas in regard to him trying to deal with that process.

2) It puts an interesting slant on their power in general. Kaname says that it happened because he let his mind wander. Which could mean it was possibly more than just accidentally overreacting to Takuma's questions. You could almost wonder if that meant that a pureblood had to be in control of their powers at all time to keep them from engaging unintentionally... I don't know, but it's a facinating thought.

I still LOVE the scene where Kaname and the Night Class come to Zero's defense against the executioners. :) Gotta be in my top 10 favorite manga moments. I forgot how very cool Zero was when he grabbed that first vampire's hand and then ended up breaking it.

I also forgot that Kaname actually blasted that one vampire's arm off! O.O The fact that nobody blinked and the guy himself simply stopped talking back (although I their parting words sure sounded like a threat to me) is another indicator of the kind of social power purebloods have too.

I'd also forgotten that whole subplot with the Night Class student drinking from the Day Class girl and our fav vamps getting to run around and play "detective" *giggles* so that Kaname could catch the culprit. Kaname looked so sad in that part actually. I suddenly had to wonder exactly what he did with that noble... *is not actually sure she wants to know* LOL considering he said he'd make sure he never did it again...

When I was initially reading these parts, I was into Vampire Knight, but not as frighteningly obsessive as I am now, so it's fun to catch all the little things I missed before. Oh! Like how lovely it was how terribly upset Yagari was that the Hunters were not going to intervene in the execution order passed down on Zero. :) Forgot about that, and love it.

In other news, I just got my copy of the VIZ release of Vampire Knight Volume 5 at Borders today. Yay!! I didn't realize it had come out already. *slaps herself* I actually stopped in to buy something else and was happily surprised by this rather nice display by the entrance... (yay for camera phones, LOL)



Of course it was just advertising a sale, but KANAME was on it... so... XD I was happy. Quickly went and bought the only copy of Volume 5 they had left. It was great too because I was wearing my Yuki bracelet today. I have one of those cosplay versions of her bracelet that they sell all over ebay. I have Kaname's tie-pins too XD But they go with fewer things. My 'vampire taming' bracelet I can wear like normal jewelry. ;) Anyway, I felt rather happy that I was wearing it and got to buy a new VK volume all at the same time... yes, I'm weird, I know.

I haven't had a chance to read the book yet, but I look forward to it. Unfortunately I don't think there were any bonus stories this volume. *sniffs* but oh well, always fun to re-read!!

Vampire Knight Chapter 43 scans and translation / scanlation is out!!

SQUEE!! That's like, what, four days ahead of official release?! *bounces, squeels and dies*

WOW... seriously... WOW. This manga has gone from school romance / love-triangle with a vampiric twist mode to full on action / dark / horror mode very quickly over the past few chapters, and I'm enjoying the way the transition has occured, even if I'm totally worried about some... okay, most of the characters now!

So much happens in this chapter, including the death of Rido, and of the Vampire Council. We also see both our favorite boys (Kaname and Zero) take a walk on the dark side, or at least, right along the edge of it.

The Vampire Council... wow... um... Kaname kills them. All of them. At once. O_O It's a little difficult to tell exactly, it could be that he uses his power on them directly, but it actually looks possible that he had them kill themselves, which, naturally, makes me think of what happened in "Under the Rose" LOL. I should probably be more disturbed by this part than I am, but I have to feel that like with Shizuka, he was doing what he felt he had to do. I hurt for him actually, a lot, especially with the scene of Yuki injected in there, saying he was a kind and gentle vampire, and him having to think that no... he isn't. *sniffles and clings to Kaname*

The bit with the bat was also cool actually... w00t! Kaname can produce bats from himself! That's kinda neat, at least the way they handled it. (Sagakure mentioned to me the interesting point that the crow we saw associated with Shizuka a while back was most likely not a real crow at all, but something similar. I think she's right and it's a facinating idea).

Kaname seems to be going more fully 'ancestor' though, which has me a wee bit worried... *chews through her lower lip* ...As do many other developments!

Zero kills Rido, as predicted of course, but oh my gosh... *clings to Zero* the poor boy is acting really gone and frightening. I hurt for him so when Rido was verbally laying into him like that, about eating Ichiru, his own twin, his own flesh, about being evil, about how Shizuka seeded him and Kaname raised him (although I have to admit I perversely actually like part of that statement... ;D) and how his whole life was manipulated and controlled by the whims of purebloods... *sniffles and glares daggers at soon to be dead Rido* Oh just SHUT UP you moron! That's already how the poor boy feels, you don't have to grind it in! Grrrr....

I can't really blame Zero for feeling at this moment, that the only answer is to actually kill every single pureblood out there and rid the world of them (and then die himself no doubt). But. Um... not all purebloods are evil, Zero, I promise... *glances towards Kaname and Yuki*

I guess I was really, really surprised that it seemed like he actually intends to try to kill Yuki. I always try to reserve jugement on things like that because they often like to lead you to believe one thing towards the end of a chapter, and then have it pan out differently in the next, but it sure as heck sounded and looked like he intended all purebloods to include and start with her. This is horribly frightening because it means he's really lost himself that much to whatever's going on with him. I could see him going after Kaname in this state / frame of mind, but Yuki... whoa.

Of course... should Kaname come back at this moment... with Zero in this state of mind and looking like he might hurt Yuki... I'm rather worried about what will ensue... worried for both of them.

In amongst all the angst and fighting though, there's a really, really cute scene with Aido and Yuki when she falls off the roof (actually, Zero kinda threw her off the roof) and she lands on him. Gosh I love Aido... *hugs him for being himself and actually managing to inject a much needed smile into the chapter*

I find it really sweet that Yuki wants him to go comfort the Day Class girls and turn his trademark charm on them. And even cuter that that's kind of the last thing Aido wants to be thinking about or doing at this moment, but of course he will, for Yuki. Considering we saw Yori previously in a breif glimpse of the frightened Day Class students, those of use who like Aido x Yori can have happy mental sub-plots in that direction. ;)

I like though that Aido also seems to realize that's not the only reason Yuki wants him to go... I think he guessed correctly that she was also concerned that Rido would try to take him over again. Rido was taunting her about pureblood's abilities to control others earlier, and I wonder if he was throwing that at her because as such a newly awakened pureblood, she's really not ready to do stuff on that level yet. Kind of makes sense that in a pureblood battle, the purebloods in question would need to be able to protect their supporters and lower class vampires from being mind-snatched by the other pureblood and used against them, but if Yuki's not able to do that yet, or not sure she is... that could be part of why she sent Aido away, because she wasn't sure she could protect him. Just a thought.

Once again interesting that that kind of persuasion and mind control over lower class vamps seems to have no effect at all on Zero (definitely not anymore anyway) else I'm sure Rido would have used it on him from the start.

The showdown with the elder Ichijo is now at hand as well... and I have to note that for all of us who like to imagine that Kaname endured some pretty bad times while in Ichijo's care as his ward, you could definitely take Kaname's words about "It's because you owe me for the past, Asato Ichijo" to lean that direction. ;) He's probably actually referencing Asato's role in supporting Rido and the death of his parents, etc., but still... ;)

I am so worried for Takuma though... I knew he would show up. I just knew it would come down to a showdown between he and his grandfather... *cringes* but... his bit about them ending the Ichijo line together... that has me deeply concerned for our beloved, sunny vamp. *clings to him too*

I like the look he and Kaname exchanged there though. It had a lot of understanding in it, or so it seemed to me, and it also seemed sad... it was kind of sweet and sad too, that Kaname said to him, Takuma was the only Ichijo there was anyway.

Shiki and Rima were sweet for the breif bit they were in this chapter too. I like him taking care of her like that. :) The last look he exchanged with his father was interesting as well.

Huh... I note though that we've seen nothing this chapter of what's happening with Cross, Yagari and the hunters and their stand off. I wonder if the hunter part of the storyline will also be coming to a close with the council and Rido parts, or if that will carry through into the next story arc, whatever that may be.

Wow. Well, okay, I've totally rambled on and on now, but new VK chapters, especially with so much happening, tend to do that to me. XD

Now I shall head back to my writing where I still need to fish a certain pureblood and hunter out of a certain flooding river... ;)

Couple of things to share. First off, let me apologize for not having gotten my fanfiction page up and running yet like I said I would. I am working on putting it together, but I have quite a lot of stories I'm sorting through to put on there and I haven't quite finished it yet. Soon though.

Lots of VK stuff to ramble about... :D

First off, I updated my Vampire Knight Radio Station Page with the latest episode. Episode 10 features Aido as host again. He's so fun and cute to listen to! :D I saw someone mention in a forum that that he apparently at some point in there mentions or admits to wearing a dress... LOL I have no idea about the context of that statement, but it doesn't actually surprise me because he was the only boy in a family of girls and it looked in the manga like he might have been the youngest child too, soo... ;)

It's fun also because at one point he actually speaks a line in English and I'm like: WHOO! I understood something he said!!!!! *is pathetic* ;)

Another fun thing I want to share is cool little Vampire Knight game you can play on the official site that I found out about from Sagakure.

Vampire Knight Fortune Telling Game



Basically you go to the page, click the red letters at the top, and they deal you 5 cards. You pick one, and it will have a character and a fortune on it, and the character says something. It's pretty fun. It will only give you a new game / new card every 24 hours.

I ought to worry, because both times I've done it I've gotten "Great Misfortune" first from Kaname, then from Yuki. LOL Although Sagakure told me that I should be glad because apparently what Kaname said when I got it translates to: "Don't worry, I'll protect you from it" So actually, I'm quite happy, despite the fact that I apparently have terrible luck. :D (LOL well I could have TOLD you that...)

In other news, I'm very happy because I just spent a small, but worthwhile fortune on VK merchandise on ebay... *chuckles* They came in the mail today. Yes, I am going to inflict pictures and rambles about my aquisitions on all of you, because... well... there's no one else I know who would remotely care, so you get to share my joy. Lucky you. *sarcasm*

I love how they have the whole opposing color thing going on, with Zero's background black like the day class uniforms and Kaname's white like the night class, but then their beads are opposite colors, with the white more matching Zero's silver hair and the black to Kaname's darker hair. It's totally pathetic that I sit there and think about things like that, but I do.

And these next two, I'm not sure what to call them, but I'm especially pleased with, despite the arm and the leg I paid ;D

Of COURSE I had to get both sets! :) I adore them to death. I'm not actually sure what I'm supposed to do with them, but there's a chain, and the leather thing that is either a bracelet or a keychain kind of thing... LOL yes, I'm terribly out of touch, I know. But anyway, there's all these awesome little vampire knight / kaname and zero charms that I can hang on whatever I want now. :D

Only thing I don't like is the phonetical spelling of Kuran as Clan :P because Kuran is just so much cooler and that's a total pet-peeve of mine. But that's okay, because I tell myself it's just saying that I'm a member of Kaname's Clan... LOL like his fan club or his syndeo or something. :D

And the big reason I got both those sets... (although all the charms are awesome):

Chibi Kaname and Zero are so cute! I have been wanting those two charms since I first saw them in a scan of a LaLa advertisement from one of the scanlation bonus pages months ago (possibly last year even). Now I have them and I am SO happy! :D I love the way the violet roses match Zero's eyes, and the red roses match Kaname's eyes.

Speaking of roses... I came across an AWESOME cleaned up version of the Sexy Kaname with Blue Roses picture from the LaLa Special Edition cover a few months ago. Some of you have probably seen this already, but it was new for me. It was done / fixed by cesarae.

I apolgoize for not posting other fanfic updates again, but I'm actually working on that big fanfic page I keep talking about, and will hopefully be putting it up sometime this upcoming week, so I'll save all my updating for that, as it will be a much better and more useful way of keeping track of all the awesome stories going on.
