My Vampire Heart

Just a quick note in case anyone's wondering... this week has been pretty busy, end of the month always is for me, but I haven't really had a chance to get much writing done, and I'm going to be out over the weekend so unfortunately I probably won't be able to update any of my fics, but I'm aiming to get more done next week and hopefully be ready to update by next weekend or sooner. :) Sorry about the delay.

If I don't get a chance to talk to you all again until next week, then hugs all around and I hope everyone has a good one. :)

All right! Translation / Scanlation of Vampire Knight Chapter 41 is now available!

It was scanlated by DWYN.SN Scans (formerly known as Salva Nos) and can also be found for download on their forum / site. A big thank you to the translators and scanners for their quick work! It's great to get a better gist of what's being done and said and to see nice clear versions of the scans. *oggles all the wonderful pictures yet again in nice high res now*

I really love the image of Takuma on page 9, especially now that I can see it clearer... :) I always thought he was kinda cute, but there's actually something very compelling about him when he's all deadly serious like that. It's probably the contrast to his normal attitude that makes it so interesting, but I really like that pic. And you can feel the tension in the air because you get the feeling the others aren't really sure if they should trust him or not, although I like the gist of what Takuma said about Kaname, obviously not wanting the others to think they were being used, because they're not. :) It's interesting that the others were calling him Ichijo-sama here... I'm not sure if they've done that before or not, I'd have to go back and check, but if not, they could kind of tell the difference in him at the moment too it would seem. I wonder what it is that he has to go do...

Squee... I still totally adore the Cross / I will protect the night class scene... :shock: who would ever have thought that the Chairman could look so darn cool and actually drool worthy...?

It's interesting that in the scene with Kaname and Yuki they talk about the Artemis rod as if it were a living thing. That may be a result of the translation, perhaps using 'born' instead of created or something, you never quite know, but still, the whole thing with it transforming at the end really makes me wonder where it came from, who made it and how Yuki got it in the first place. Cross gave Zero the Blood Rose gun, which makes sense since he was a former hunter, but did he also give Yuki the Artemis rod? That would make sense of course, since he was arming the two school prefects against vampires, and it's clearly some kind of anti-vampire weapon... but at the same time... Yuki is able to weild it, obviously, after she's a vampire, and even Zero was able to when he defended Yuki that once, even though the rod was trying to reject him. So I wonder if it's just a cool prop, or if there's going to be a reason and a history for it revealed at any point. Also... if it is some kind of hybrid hunter and vampire weapon... wonder if it would be any good for killing nasty rogue purebloods *cough*Rido*cough* LOL ;)

*stops to stare at the kiss scene for a little while before shaking herself out of it and movig on.* ;)

It's facinating though, because it kind of reads like Yuki's sending Kaname out there to do something, which leads me to wonder if she's already starting to understand everything that's going on with new comprehension or what...

I can't help feeling kind of sad for Kaname though, because it looks like Yuki was calling him her brother again there... and that's one secret he still keeps from her as far as I know... the fact that he isn't, not really. And you can almost kind of see the weight of that on him. *wants to hug him so badly*

:) *beams at Aido* really... you know, he gets Kaname more than the others do I think. I like that he grasped the fact that Kaname wouldn't be leaving Yuki in their care if he didn't trust them a whole hell of a lot. Since Kaname has a habit of not explaining himself to anyone, he needs people like Aido who just understand. :)

I SO cannot wait for the next chapter!!!


Oh hey, on a related note, I'm not sure if a lot of people know because for some reason it was never announced on their forum and I don't see it in the downloads section there, but VK Scans did release their version of Chapter 40 earlier this month as well. You can Download it from their site Here if you haven't already. I always like to read more than one version of a chapter translation because it inevitably adds greater depth and understanding. VK Scans has been a little slow the past chapter or two, so I assume they've got things going on in their lives (YIKES do I understand that!! :P *glances apologetically on her two stories that are both languishing in need of an update*) but still very high quality on the translations when they do release. So they are definitely worth checking out, even if you've already read other versions. I look forward to their version of Chapter 41 whenever it comes out as well.

Okay, totally pointless little post but on my drive home today I heard a new song by the Foo Fighters (no, don't ask me what they were thinking when they named their band, I have always wondered... XD) and the opening lyrics made me stop and do a double take because they made me think so much of some angsty Vampire Knight situation. The rest of the song, not so much, but the opening lines...

I think it was probably the reference to "beautiful veins and bloodshot eyes" that cinched the mental reference for me. I mean... beautiful veins? Totally makes me think vampires, and although I know what they mean by bloodshot eyes... I can take that to mean something entirely else if I want to... *thinks of pretty red vamp eyes*

Don't have a specific situation in mind, but like I said, it just made me think of angsty vampires. LOL yes, I am a total dork.

Oh, while I'm displaying my dorkiness, here's part of another song by Death Cab for Cutie (who must have named their band under the same influence as the Foo Fighters) where a couple of the lines instantly screamed vampire at me when I heard it:

Okay, well, I'm home now waiting for ep12 to download, there's no pesky coworkers around and my fiance is not within the line of sight of my computer screen. :D So... picture sharing time! :D

A little while ago, Sagakure and I did a little pic/fic trade. :D She drew me a picture on the theme of my choosing and I wrote her a little fic on the theme of her choosing. LOL amazingly amusing how similar our themes ended up being in some respects... ;D

Now before you ask, yes, at some point I will post the fic I wrote for the trade (it doesn't fit in either of my series though, it's yet another AU LOL). Not just yet, but at some point I will. But Sagakure was kind enough to say that she didn't mind if I went ahead and shared the pics she did for me and I have just been dying to share / rave about them cause they are so awesome. :)

They also go very nicely with the Chapter 12 of Blood Moon actually... ;)

Speaking of things I can't do at work, there's some pics I really want to share, not mine, but somebody else's that are just awwwwesome... *nosebleeds* but I can't post those up when I'm at work either for reasons that will be... obvious when I do post them. LOL Yeah, okay, I'm rambling.

Since I'm rambling anyway... the company I work for had this fundraiser dinner / dance thing on Sunday night and I went with my fiance. I was a little afraid it'd be boring, but it was actually really cool because it was at this upscale place and so we dressed up for it and all... I'm a total sucker for a guy in a tux... *happy sigh* Actually, it put me in mind of the party scene in BM, although not nearly so fancy or, um, populated by vampires. *chuckles* Hey, can I help it if my mind wandered to what Kaname and Zero would look like in tuxes? Or what it might be like to dance with them? ;) Let's not tell my fiance about that though. Shhh....

*sighs* okay, I gotta get back to work so I can actually get out of the office and get home sometime tonight... deadlines and overtime just suck... :P

SQUEEE!!! Chapter 41 of the Vampire Knight Manga is out!! HUGE thank you to Sagakure for letting me know, finding the images and posting a summary!

Wow... all I can say is... wow... for all of us who have been wanting to see a little action work its way into the series, I'd say that is definitely starting to happen! This looks like a very cool chapter, I can't wait to read it!


SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 41 AHEAD - DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED




Still here? Okay, then on with the rambling... ;) Obviously, my thoughts and opinions are just being formed off looking at the raws and reading the summary, so who knows what may change when the scanlations come out, but for now I've quite enough to keep my head spinning! Last chapter was definitely Zero-centric, so it makes sense that this one focuses a bit more on Kaname :) and all the others. Actually I was a bit surprised that Zero makes absolutely no apperance at all, but I imagine that's because Ms. Hino is saving the next time we see him for a climatic moment no doubt. :D

There was some really great/angsty Kaname and Yuki moments in this. The cover pic.... um... *drools, grabs Kaname, hugs Kaname, drools some more* Very cool in an angsty kind of way, especially because Kaname looks so... vulnerable. Although I have to agree with Sagakure's assesment, while I loved this whole chapter (or at least, the pictures and the summary of it LOL) it's also really making me worry for Kaname. *cringes* I have this dreadful feeling he's going to end up dying and I will litterally be horribly depressed if that happens. *sighs and tries not to think about it, hugging her fics and whispering that he shall always be alive in them...*

I'm not going to repeat the summary already given obviously, but I can't help commenting on a lot of stuff that seems to be happening, and I do have to quietly smile and dab my eyes over the Kaname / Yuki kiss. I know, sorry, not gonna make everybody happy, but it was a really sweet moment that both made me smile and tear up at the same time. Although actually in an odd way this is one of the things currently making me the most afraid for my fav pureblood. Because this whole scene played a little too much like a goodbye on some level... *really hopes she's misreading that*

*coughs* okay, sorry, 'nough of the depressing talk. Back to the cool stuff. :)

I loved the Takuma / Shiki / Rima scenes at the beginning! LOL Takuma is cute/scary/awesome having slid into full on protector / battle mode now. And Shiki was cool too, it was great to see him taking a stand and not going to let himself be used anymore (the little flash back with his mom SO fits with the way I like to imagine his past, poor boy). :D

All our NC vamps were just awesome *sighs with happiness* I really adore seeing them all stepping up and going on alert like this, Kain, Ruka, Aido, all of them, it's really cool.

OH! Grin moment that must be mentioned - YenGirl, I thought of you when I saw this in the raws - guess who Kaname has take Yori away to safety? Aido. :D So we get at least two nice little frames where he's holding her arm or kind of her hand. ;) LOL I know, I'm a goober, but I thought it was cool.

Apparently we also get some awesomeness from Chairman Cross and Yagari, which I find unexpectedly cool. I have to admit I'm quite shocked at the idea (if I'm understanding this right) that the Hunter's Association actually intends to execute the Night Class! Um, hello? Don't they think they're going to tick off just a few vampire families if they slaughter their children? But then, it looks like this is the first stages of a war, so they probably don't care. Plus, they may be counting on the fact that Rido is on their side, and it has already been established that the Kurans could step back in and redemand 'kingship' at any time they chose... *shivers*

I can't say how cool it is though, that Cross and Yagari alone stand against what is happening, that Cross, a former hunter, is fully prepared to fight his own and face probable death to defend the Night Class.

...who are now currently the ones trying to defend all the Day Class students back at the Academy... ooooohhh the whole set up is just awesome. *quivers in excitment*

Hey, on a side note, does it not seem terribly creepy to anyone else that the Hunter's association actually seems to be keeping a reserve of tamed vampires themselves? I mean, I know back when Yuki, Cross and Zero went to the Association headquarters (and I wanted to kick them all for the way they treated Zero - you know, really, they treated him just as bad as the vampires would, maybe worse) they all seemed to know about 'tamed' vampires, but it didn't really make an impression on me until now that it was possible they might be in the business of taming/binding vampire slaves themselves. *blinks* I may be totally misreading this, but if it actually is playing the way I'm reading it... O.O (Right now I'm assuming this is only possible with ex-humans like Zero, but I could be totally wrong about that too... oh my gosh, the bunnies, the bunnies... *tries not to get carried away by them*)

If that is the case though, I guess Zero really did end up in a very fortunate position... not only to avoid being held as the captive/servant of some vampire pureblood or noble, but also to avoid being used by the Association... although it does seem they were trying come to think of it, although Cross was sheilding him as much as he could.

Anyway, Kaname is off somewhere, to face someone... alone... *gulps* Have to admit, I would really love to have something happen where Zero ends up having to save him :D but we'll see what happens. Looks like Cross and Yagari might just need some saving too soon. *gulps again*

Wow, okay, well, um, I better stop rambling now before I do re-summarize everything, and badly at that LOL but anyway, the chapter looks very cool and I can't wait to see the scanlations on this one!! *jitters like she's on a caffiene high even though she isnt* XD

Vampire Knight Fanfic update time again! :D I updated my Kaname x Zero fanfic Blood Moon with a nice long lemon chapter... *grins and hides, hoping people like it* and I also posted a sweet, somewhat angsty/fluffy little oneshot about when little Kaname starts needing fresh blood called Safe in my Arms.

Okay, my muse has been a busy little bee lately, so I now have the next chapter of my Vampire Knight Fanfiction "Blood Moon" done too!

For some odd reason as far as the first part, with what happens at the party goes, I've got these two lines from Hotel California running through my head:

No litteral correlation of course, as the two situations are not similar, but it's just the feeling that it evokes of being someplace glitzy and polished and suddenly finding it to be something else under the surface I guess. Huh. I'm weird, whatever. XD

Okay, finally got that update for my Vampire Knight fanfic Five Hundred Miles that I've been promising for a while finished and posted! :) To be honest, in a way it's taken me longer than usual because I've been trying to figure out if there was any way to fix some pretty embaressing errors I made reguarding the setting for the story... but there's just no way without tearing the story apart too much. :P Ah well. Thanks to everyone for suspending their disbelief. :)
