Summary: Yuki's death shatters Zero's and Kaname's world and drives them forcefully apart. Torn by guilt and blame but bound by blood, they must either salvage their relationship or face the reality that they will destroy each other. Is there any common ground left for two broken and angry hearts?

Warnings: Somewhat graphic yaoi (male/male) lemon. Blood, violence, vampirism, character death (remembered), attempted suicide, character whumping and intense angst. Five Hundred Miles

Summary: Called away right before Yuki's graduation, Kaname and Zero are in a hurry to get back in time. But a plane crash, an inhospitable jungle, warring guerilla factions and serious injuries plunge them into a struggle for survival that they may not escape at all.

Warnings: Fairly graphic Lemon-ness including elements of het (male/female), yaoi (male/male) and threesome (male/female/male). This story portrays an established, committed relationship between three people who love each other. If any of the preceding threatens to disturb you, please don't read this story. Warnings too on some character whumping and minor scary/thematic events later on. If you are overly phobic of airplanes and airplane crashes... uh... well, you've been warned.

Pairings: Kaname x Yuki x Zero – yes, mix match and together in any order ;)

Series: This story is part of the Trio Series, which follows Kaname, Zero and Yuki and their relationship as based off of my story "Crimson Door".

The two stories are very different from one another in setting, tone, and timeframe, and of course they're both completely AU from one another since in one series, Yuki lives, and in one series, Yuki dies. So hopefully that won't throw anyone off. I've been putting a lot of work into them already so I'm really, really nervous about both stories and whether or not people will like them *hides behind her muse* but I guess we'll see.

Info about the Vampire Knight anime ending theme has been released! Can't stay on long, but I just had to quick toss this up before I vanish for some weekend R&R.

It's called "Still Doll" by Wakeshima Kanon and produced by MANA.

Make sure and have your speakers turned on, the site plays a really pretty peice of music when it loads, which might actually be a clip from Still Doll, but I can't read a word on the site, so I don't know and don't want to say for sure. :)

Okay, another trailer for Vampire Knight hit the net! It's a lot like the others really, but in this one we get to see them moving a little! :D So that's cool. Two bits I love the best are of course when Zero's holding the gun and then when Kaname's eyes are glowing red. Puts me in mind of the way I had them glow in Crimson Door *squees happily that they actually do that*

I just figured out how to embed youtube videos into my site. Yay. Go me. LOL Finally catching up with the times...

Made another little VK pic during a rather long and boring day of meetings *coughs* they shouldn't let me take have my laptop in those things, I pay so little attention. *looks innocent*

Too hard to concentrate enough to write, but at least I can play with pictures and kind of pay attention at the same time. ;)

Okay, this is entirely YenGirl's fault. She inspired me to write this little bit of drivel to go with the picture. To give credit where credit is due, the scene and most of the dialoge is hers, I just fleshed it out with a bit of detail. :) Thanks!

Zero leaned heavily against the wall, his lungs sill heaving and pounding heart only just beginning to slow. He swallowed and his throat felt a little sore... had he screamed? He didn't remember. Definitely not the only part of him feeling sore. His body was still tingling from the hard, intense rush of pleasure that had swallowed him moments before. Everything had happened so fast... Kaname had been drinking his blood and generally making his senses reel from how good it felt, then everything had spiraled out of control rather quickly and Zero had found himself pushed up against the wall, pants down to his knees with a very seductive and urgently demanding pureblood pressed up against his back.

It had been intensely hard, quick and mind-blowing. Zero's knees barely supported him as he leaned against the wall, but Kaname's arm around his waist kept him up. Kaname eased Zero away from the wall and Zero took a half-step away, but seemed too exhausted or perhaps a little too sore to move much farther. Kaname wrapped his arm around his lover's shoulders, fingers sliding into the tousled silver hair as he cupped his head, savoring just being near him as Zero's breath came in short, slowly calming pants. The boy was so incredibly beautiful with his face lightly flushed from pleasure, his body slackened from the exhaustion of passion.

Kaname was breathing hard too, a light smile playing across his face. "Liked that, didn't you..." he murmured a bit breathlessly. Zero didn't respond and Kaname brushed his lips lightly against the other's cheek. "Sorry if I was a bit hasty..."

Zero snorted weakly. "A bit hasty? Kaname, we're still wearing our clothes for cryin' out loud... you do realize I have to go to class..." he trailed off with a small, embarrassed wince as he tried to move again. There was nothing on earth that made his blood pound like Kaname did. Whether he'd admit it or not, he adored the pureblood... but his timing occasionally sucked.

Kaname didn't look very guilty or repentant. "Forget class. Zero, I've been away almost a week... I couldn't help myself, I-I was aching for you so badly, you have no idea..."

Zero swallowed ruefully at the word 'aching'. But it was so hard to really be ticked with Kaname when he was like this, especially when Zero still felt almost weak from pleasure. "Yeah, well..."

A little more real of a slightly guilty look crept into Kaname's dark eyes. He knew he'd been rather... um... urgent... "Did I hurt you?" he murmured gently.

Zero rolled his eyes. "Shut up, Kaname..."

I'm particularly jazzed about Shoku-Dan. This is the first time I've come across them, but their site is very nice and the really cool part is that they plan on not only translating / subbing (doing subtitles for) the Vampire Knight Anime, but also dubbing it! So they'll be doing actual English voice-overs which will be awesome!!

I know a lot of people don't like fansubs, but I love them - I mean, dubs are great, it's great to hear what the original voice cast sounds like. But, um... I really like being able to focus on watching the pretty pictures and just hear what's being said without having to read subtitles all the time too. That's just me. But anyway, I'm really pleased to hear that someone's going to be doing that. :D

From Shoku-Dan I also got a good translation of the Vampire Knight Anime Opening Theme title: Two Heartbeats and the Red Sin.

Being the sucker that I am for songs and song lyrics, I watched the trailer vid that they put the subtitles on and typed them out. This translation is not mine, it is totally courtesy of Shoku-dan and Raserei Hojo.

Interesting! As always, reading the translation makes much more sense than trying to guess off the pictures or partial translations.

I'm still very curious and puzzled about a few things though. Principally how the whole thing with Kaname being somehow the ancestors of the Kurans, awakened by Rido exactly works. Is he in the body of Jurri and Haruka's other child which apparently Rido stole? Or was he created / awakened / reborn by the sacrifice of that child's life (Rido was calling Yuki his "sacrifice" after all, soo...)? How did Haruka and Juuri end up raising him, since it's obvious they did? It's also obvious he cared about them and they him... Haruka at least obviously considered Kaname his son. *snifs at that sweet, angsty scene*

You know, this also begs the question... the little Kaname that Aido and the others remember - was he the same Kaname that we know now, or was he the Kuran's actual son at that point and that's why Aido thought he changed so much later? I personally don't really like that notion, but it's a possibility I can't ignore either. Hm. Although... it would seem really odd that Kaname would have memories of that, and of Shizuka from when he was little if he wasn't the same person.

But on top of all that, is the question of why Rido wanted to awaken Kaname in the first place? And what did he want with Yuki, since he was still very much alive at that point and he'd already done what he did with Kaname? Did he, perhaps, awaken him intending merely to kill him and get his blood and the power that it posessed? And then things just didn't go as planned? I don't know, so many questions... x.x

Another question thar really intrigues me is about Zero. From the conversation had by the Asato Ichijo and the Hunter President it looks like they're defnitely in cahoots, although why the head of the hunters would want the council to be all powerful is beyond me at this point. :S What's really interesting though is when they're talking about Zero - I'm not sure who they're talking about when wondering why 'he' raised Zero... I assume they're talking about Chairman Cross, since they said 'hunters' - plural - before that, and as far as I know, Cross and Zero were the only hunters at the Academy. But since the one said that 'although he's lived more than me, he's still a kid' that almost makes me wonder if instead they're talking about Kaname, and why he's tolerated / protected Zero. I really don't know, but I really do have to believe that Zero's going to have a rather important role to play yet, especially since it's been so clearly mentioned in this chapter that a hunter weapon needs to be involved to keep the pureblood from being able to regenerate again.

The end, when Zero's locked up and seeming so confused... I wonder if it's just emotional confusion, or if his words about how he can feel two of them... it looks like he means Kaname and Yuki, given the pictures. I wonder if it's because he's drunk both of their blood and now that Yuki's become a pureblood again... it's almost like he's bound to both of them somehow. LOL of course that's just me, because of my own take on bonding and all that, but I can't help but wonder anyway. ;)

What I meant to say in a slightly more coherent manner, was that I find that picture incredibly yummy and I completely adore the fact that they stuck Zero and Kaname together like that!!!

I'm in heaven. I know it's only my twisted little mind that reads what I want to read into the image, but that's totally fine! I can dream what I like and they made it very easy for me. I mean, come on... they're lying sprawled together... and excuse me but Zero is VERY suggestively partially-undressed... *coughs* even his pants *coughs and returns to her goo state again and doesn't resolidify for several minutes*

Kaname's lips traveled slowly down Zero's neck. The faint hint of fangs played lightly against the pulse pounding in the ex-human's veins. Zero's head fell back, Kuran's blood still a warm, tangy taste on his tongue as his senses reeled in overdrive.

"Here?" The pureblood murmured, sending a shiver racing across the pale skin. "Or here...?"

Zero's fingers knotted in Kaname's leather overcoat, barely breathing.

Kaname's body shuddered softly, his eyes sliding shut to savor the delicious taste of the other's skin and the rapid pounding of his heartbeat under his mouth. "Ah..." he murmured, deceptively soft. "Here."

Zero groaned softly in his throat as the pureblood's fangs found him, soft lips working skillfully against his flesh...

Spring is in the air, Easter is around the corner and I felt like a nice new Spring-ish theme for my blog. So, here it is! Whatcha think? Like it? Hate it? Hmm... well I like it. Until I get tired of it and want another one of course... LOL

Another addition you'll notice is the playlist under the search box on the right. Click on it to listen to a playlist I've put together of different songs that make me think of Vampire Knight in general, and Kaname and Zero in particular. :D The playlist opens in a new window and you can scroll through them and pick any of the songs you want to hear, or just listen to the whole thing. It's a really cool little free utility made available by playlist.com . Given how much I love music that makes me think of VK, I just couldn't resist adding it to the site. There are of course some pieces of music I wanted but couldn't find to put up, but I managed to find at least like... 60 or so... LOL so there's a lot of listening material on there. If you scroll through, you can also find the songs I've titled several of my stories and my blog off of like "Behind the Crimson Door", "Under the Rose" and "My Vampire Heart."

Speaking of stories... I updated "Crimson Door" with Chapter 29: "Undeniable Bonds" One more chapter to go that I'm working on now and that story will be completed. Cool that it's going to work out to be an even 30 chapters, I didn't plan that, it just happened. Wow... it's really kind of mind boggling to realize how long the story ended up, considering I've never written anything longer than 20 pages or so before. I'm really quite pleased, especially because everybody has been so wonderful with the reviews and all.

It's almost a little sad to see it drawing to a close... except that I'm already working on two new stories to start posting after I finish CD. Heh. So... no time to feel too sad. ;D

Time for another fanfiction update! I've updated my Vampire Knight story "Crimson Door" with Chapter Twenty-Eight: "Crossing Over".

In other Vampire Knight News... I've heard that there is going to be a Vampire Knight Novel released in Japan around the same time that the anime starts - April. This isn't the newest of news, but I forgot to mention it when I first heard it, so I figured better late than never. Still can't find too many details about it yet.

Too bad I can't read Japanese, but I've been told it looks like it might focus slightly on Aido, given the 'cover' picture shown and the title, which translates to something like: Sin of Melancholy Ice. (This information all courtesy of the wonderful folks on the VK Forums).

So that would be very cool. I hope they translate it and publish it in the US as they have with the Fullmetal Alchemist and Trinity Blood Novels. *crosses fingers and hopes*

LOL seems like all I've done the past few times here is post fic updates, but what can I say? My muse has been a busy little thing. :)

Just updated my Vampire Knight story "Crimson Door" with Chapter 27 - "Fount of Ancient Blood is Dry"

Yes, if that sounds familiar, it's taken from the wonderful NOX song "No More Dance" that Emese introduced me to a little while ago. You can check out the post that I did about that a little while ago to read the lyrics and hear it on youtube.

The other lyrics that work very well for this chapter, as I mention, are Evanescence's "My Last Breath" ... and since I have all this lovely space here, I think this is as good an excuse as any to post those lyrics...

Okay, I knew letting my muse start that plot-bunny breeding farm was asking for trouble, I just knew it...

Now I've gone and written another silly little Vampire Knight story. This one's about Kaname and Yuki when Kaname's about the equivelent of 3-4 years old and Yuki's a baby. I'm lazy, so I'm just going to resay what I said on ff.net about it:

Working away on the next chapter of "Crimson Door" but in the meantime, another one of these darn little plot bunnies my muse is breeding bit me and forced me to write another tiny little side story. The result is "Blood and Juice Boxes" ... don't ask me how I ended up at that title, it's just the only one that seemed to stick. It's a one-shot story that takes place when Kaname's a little boy and Yuki's a baby. I meant it to be more humorous than I think it ended up, but it's still (hopefully) somewhat amusing at points, and kinda angsty at others. *huggles little Kaname tightly* Will update CD as soon as I get the next chapter done! *Dives back in to keep working on it*

Sooo... yeah, the story's a little different than what I usually write, but I just couldn't resist. Hopefully people won't think it's too dumb. *crosses fingers and prepares to hide just in case*
