VK Fanfic Updates and a New Theme

Okay, time for another new theme / skin for my blog. :D Going for a more peaceful tone this time. Like it? I've been aching to use that picture of Zero and Kaname somewhere. Mmmmm.... so cute in their matching shirts...

On the Vampire Knight Fanfiction side of things, I've completed the next chapter of Crimson Door, which can be read here: Crimson Door Chapter 25 - "Hath No Man than This".

I also started another short story:

Under the Rose
Summary: Kaname and Zero have a fight and Zero storms off, only to end up in deep trouble with a couple of cruel aristocrats who want to teach him his place. Will Kaname listen to what Zero said, and stay away, or will he listen to his heart and go looking for him in time to save him?
Rated: M (Attempted Non-Con, Violence)

Lightpathetic updated her story "A Place for Us" too! You can read the new chapter here. Whoo boy... shoulda seen that coming, but didn't. ;)

Blackened Wing

*Huge grin* Okay, I just recieved one of the sweetest and most creative gifts I've ever gotten.

You know that vampire muse I keep talking about? I now have proof that she actually exsists.

My wonderful and very talented friend Emese drew me a picture of her! We didn't talk about it at all beforehand, it was a surprise, but when I got the picture I looked at it and knew instantly who it was because that's exactly as I've imagined her! :D *continues grinning like a loon*

And so, I am tickled to death to present you with my muse:

She is obviously deep in the midst of thinking up another evil plot twist. Note the blackened wings, just like my pen name. :D :D I'm a total sucker for delightful details like that.

Thank you again my friend!

*huggles pic happily and ignores the glare she'd getting from her muse who wants a copy*

Vampire Knight Chapter 37 Scanlation

The translation of Vampire Knight Chapter 37 has been released!

You can download it here: http://www.mangatraders.com/manga/series/308

Or read it online here: http://www.onemanga.com/Vampire_Knight/37/

That was quick! And the best part of all is that it was put out by the wonderful VK scans scanlation group - who does the best quality scans and translations in my opinion. Here's a HUGE thank you to VK scans for the swift and awesome work!! And thank you Emese for giving me the heads up to go check!

SPOILERS AHEAD

Okay, I read the chapter now. Massive spoilers throughout this post, so don't read any further if you don't want to be spoilered.

First off – okay, I'm not so upset with Zero anymore. I was kinda after looking at the raws, but not now. It wasn't because Yuki was a vampire he was having a problem, it's because he could feel that she was a pureblood and we all know he's got issues with purebloods, for a good reason. I imagine it must have been very hard suddenly having Yuki feel like her, like Shizuka felt. Yuki didn't exactly help matters, but she's going through a lot right now and I think that having Zero treat her so differently suddenly must have really hurt. So she told him what she fears and thinks is true, that the vampire part of her has swallowed everything else. But I'm certain that's why she was crying later, after Aido chased her down.

It was really interesting finding out about the whole curse of hunter twins, as well as the origins of the hunters. Kinda creepy that one hunter twin will usually devour the other in the womb. I find it interesting though that that didn't happen with Zero and Ichiru. And even if Zero did absorb his brother's energy in some way, even in instinctual form in the womb he didn't kill his brother. And we know he cared a lot about him later in life. It's kind of sad really.

I wonder why Yagari was ordered to restrain Zero, though? And the way he said it – the fragment of the Kiriyu twins... I wonder what will happen with Zero and Ichiru in the future, I have a feeling their fates may yet be bound together.

Ichiru was interesting in this chapter too. I'm not quite sure if he was obeying Kaname because he had no choice for some reason, or if he wanted to. It was really interesting finding out about how hunters came to be... they ate a vampire to gain the ability to fight them. Macabre, certainly, but it actually makes perfect sense. That supports the obvious theory then that hunters are indeed different than humans and that it's hereditary.

I'm intensely interested and puzzled about why Kaname can't bring himself to kill Rido, either as a child or now. We know he can kill even when he doesn't really want to. He obviously didn't really want to kill Shizuka. So there must really be something there... I'm still knocking around a curiosity about the possibility that Rido isn't his uncle at all, but might in fact be his father. I wonder though... what he's planning now. Why he's giving Rido what he wants and using his own blood to bring him back to life in his original body?

LOL actually... this twist highly amuses me in one way simply because of the direction that my (by now very AU) fanfic "Crimson Door" is headed within the next chapter or two. But that's beside the point.

Oh, before I forget, I liked Kaname's conversation with Ruka. It was obviously bittersweet, but still sweet. She's really a much better person that most people (including me) usually portray her and I have to give her points for that. I hope she finds happiness too... maybe with Kain, who kinda seemed to like her... ;) okay, sorry, totally off-topic there. But I liked the exchange, and the fact that Kaname was obviously sorry that he couldn't return her unspoken affection for him, but that he wanted her to know that he trusted her.

I wonder what Kaname's preparing for, keeping all the day students safely cooped up in their dorm... he's prepping for a storm it seems. I wonder what will happen when Rido awakens?! LOL on a side note, I also have to wonder what the heck the day students will think of being kept in like this and if they'll ever know what's really going on. Heh

Okay, well, I have rambled way past long enough for one post, so I shall shut up now.

Vampire Knight Anime Pictures, Music & News

Okay, now for that post I mentioned about the upcoming Anime. Check out the latest picture from La La magazine, scanned by the wonderful Alessia-chan:

(click on thumbnail for full size image)
(I put it on my own server just because I didn't want to hotlink or flood anyone else's, but the scan is NOT mine)

Nice. Very nice. The drawing style of the Anime is definitely looking better and better! Kain and Yuki look not quite right to me, but everybody else looks good!

According to news I read on the VK forums, the anime will be airing on April 7th or 8th in Japan. You can also find more info about the VK anime on the Anime News Network.

Daisuke Kishio is going to be doing the voice of Kaname Kuran and Mamoru Miyano will be Zero Kiryu. I found this voice clip of the guy doing Kaname's voice.

Download Kaname Voice Actor Clip

Of course he's speaking in Japanese, so I've no clue what he's saying, but he's got a nice voice. I tried to find one for Zero's voice actor, but no luck yet. He did the voice of Light on Death Note though, so if you're familiar with that series (in Japanese) you've heard him.

Also found out that the opening song / theme for the anime is going to be done by this twin duet: http://www.onoff-net.com/ . They have some of their music playing on their site, it's nice.

Vampire Knight Chapter 37 Raws

Ooh! I just looked through the raws for Vampire Knight Chapter 37!!! Looks like there is lots going on and lots of delicious angst. The scans I read were scanned by the wonderful Alessia-chan and I found them on the Vampire Knight forums. You have to be a member and have 25 non-spam posts to access the downloads section where the scans are, but it's completely worth the effort and I highly recommend it.

You can find the cover pic, which is an incredibly gorgeous pic of Kaname and Yuki, and some AWESOME pics from the anime (also scanned by Alessia-chan) in this thread on the VK forums: http://vk.onnacafe.com/index.php?topic=8558.0 – they're in the announcements thread so anyone can view them.

I'm so jazzed to see the anime pics!!! But more on that in a later post perhaps. Right now I'm still buzzing from the Chapter 37 Raws. :D

VK CHAPTER 37 SPOILERS and sort-of summary BELOW:

Okay, so like I said, looks like lots of angst in this chapter! Of course these are just the raws, so I can't understand what anyone is saying, but it looks like Yuki and Zero have a rather difficult conversation in the beginning part of the chapter. Zero looks pretty mad and is holding his gun the whole time. Yuki's calm at the time, but later on after she leaves at one point it looks like she might be crying. I will admit it will be interesting to see if Zero's actually angry, or just feeling upset and hurt. It's kinda sad to think that he would blame Yuki for being what she is, although obviously this whole thing is quite a shock for him.

There's a very cute scene with Yuki and Aido where Aido brings her some shoes because she's running around barefoot (and in her nightgown) this whole time. Dunno what they're saying, but it's really kinda cute and sweet to see those two interacting, considering how Aido always was with Yuki before. But you know, that seems to be his character. He was a brat with Kaname when they first met too but I daresay he's one of the most loyal to him now.

There's some scenes with Kaname and Sieren (I think?) and Kaname and Ruka. Without the dialogue, I can't really tell what's going on, but it will be interesting to find out. Gotta say, I like the look Kaname's sporting in this chapter, even if it's a little on the dark and mussed side. I love his uniform, but it's great to see him in other clothes too. Yummy!

The really interesting bits where I can't wait to find out what's going on happen when Kaname finds Ichiru and a coffin in a room – his room? Not sure. I really can't wait to find out what they talk about, but Kaname and Ichiru have quite a lengthy discussion and the coffin is opened and it looks to me like it's Rido's body inside. There is an awesome panel of Kaname grabbing a sword and stabbing it down... *shivers happily*

Then it cuts over to a scene with Zero, Yagari and Chairman Cross. Zero looks upset again and the Chairman looks sad. Then Zero looks kinda surprised about something. So I think we're probably (hopefully) finding out some new info about.... something. LOL not sure what.

Back in Kaname's room, Ichijo enters and finds Kaname with the sword in the coffin... they're intentionally not showing us the end of the sword. Ichijo is carrying Shiki over his shoulder and lays him down on the bed so we have to wonder if Rido has released him or been forced to release him? The last thing we see in the chapter... is that it looks like Kaname has put the sword blade through his own hand, which is resting on Rido's body's chest. O.o eeep! Why?! This is such an interesting twist, I really want to know what's going on!!! *bounces in delightful agony at not really understanding what she's seeing*

The next chapter must be going to have some more info on Zero and Ichiru (I hope) because the preview banner shows both of them together. See the preview banner, posted by Artemis, here: http://vk.onnacafe.com/index.php?topic=8567.0

But perhaps the pic I adore the most is a page that's at the end of the chapter. I don't know what it's for, maybe it's another preview page, but there's this great pic of Kaname, poor thing... it just totally makes me want to hug him. I can't resist, I have to share this little pic. I cropped it down to just show Kaname.

*hugs Kaname* poor thing... he looks entirely too good in a bloody, lost kind of way. Yes, I do have a thing for strong men looking vulnerable... *sigh*...

Vampire Knight Fanfiction - Crimson Door Update

Just updated my VK fic "Crimson Door". Chapter Twenty-Three "Dead Draw" is now posted over fanfiction.net. You can read it here if you want.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I just came across a funny quote from Albert Einstein in some research I was doing for work. It made me smile, so I had to share it: Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love.

Kaname Kuran Pictures

Did some more fan art, just for my personal pleasure this time. I've actually been working on it for a while, but I got in an inspirational fit late Sunday night and stayed up until 3am finishing it. LOL

It's a picture of Kaname Kuran with two white tigers. I enjoy the symbolic simile of tigers and vampires - their deadly grace and the black and white stripes of the tigers, and the night class uniforms. Okay... getting way too deep, I'm sure, but anyway, I'm mostly pleased with the way the pictures came out at least. Click on the thumbnails below to see the full sized pictures on Deviant Art.

I also did a version that includes the words to William Blake's poem "Tiger, Tiger" which is one of my favorite classical poems and happens to work very well for Vampires in my opinion:

Vampire Valentine

In honor and anticipation of Valentine's day, I have re-decorated my blog. See all the red, it's very festive... um... yes, ignore the fact that it's blood... ;) LOL Actually, I call this my "Bloody Valentine" theme. It was fun to make, I may make more themes eventually and keep changing them out. Kaname and Zero make such delightful eye candy to play with after all. ;D

Vampire Knight Fan Art Contest

I entered a piece of Vampire Knight Fan Art that I drew and colored into a contest over on the VK Forums a while ago. The contest challenge was to do a piece of VK art on a winter theme and it has just opened up to voting, so I can share the picture with others now!

Click on the thumbnail below to see a full-size version of the pic.

If you like my picture, if you're a VK forums member and if you would like to vote for it, you can do so here: http://vk.onnacafe.com/index.php?topic=7026.0 by just posting a message saying you're voting for number 5.

However, there are a lot of other awesome pictures in the contest you should definitely check out as well, as you may end up wanting to vote for one of them more. LOL that's perfectly fine too. It's just fun to be part of these things. I think all the entries are really good. Definitely worth looking and enjoying, even if you aren't a VK Forums member.

Crimson Door Updated - Finally! (VK Fanfic)

Well, with all the inspirational sustinance I've been getting from the wonderful Emese, my muse has finally revived enough to let me get Chapter 21 of "Crimson Door" finished and posted on fanfiction.net. Read the Chapter Here.

The chapter's a bit slow because there's a lot of talking and planning and other necessary things that needed to happen to further the plot as things move forward, but hopefully it's not too blah. Am already working on the next chapter! :D

No More Dance Lyrics - by NOX

I've been unable to find a written version of the English lyrics for the NOX song "No More Dance" anywhere on the net. So I've listened to it many, many times and tried to write the lyrics down myself. Only problem is there's a number of points where I just can't tell what they're saying. Some places I have tried to make an educated guess, some I just can't get at all. Maybe you can help me peice it together! :)

I'd also love to hear what the actual translation of the Hungarian lyrics would be too.

Hear the song, watch the video on YouTube

"No More Dance"
by NOX

Watching, sailing, summers fly
And mountains try on winter's sigh
Say the words tell me slowly, deeper
And the soul cannot lose the deceiver
Your face can turn a wicked side

Fear is graceful in your eyes
As anger cuts you down to size
When (something) has a chance you are growing
When you fight like a man you'll be knowing
Bow your head to ease the lie
(or possibly ' Bow your head to his delight')

Ancient signs, on your design
Love and pain, sword and chain
If your game is a crime you can solve it
Realize that your heart is a culprit
Oh, your dance is in vain

Ancient signs, on your design
Shy and vain, pride and shame
(or possibly: Try in vain, cry in shame)
What you find in your past can you take it?
(something, something, something) and break it
Oh, your dance is in vain...

Singing tuneless lullabies
Dreaming of the bluest skies
Say I'll dance 'til he comes to defeat you
And your vengeance is when he needs you
Your soul surrenders deep inside

See to (something, something) and cry
The fount of ancient blood is dry
The flame's not a flame but it burns you
Your face is disgraced as it turns to
The darker side of living (fire?)

Ancient signs, on your design
Love and pain, sword and chain
If your game is a crime you can solve it
Realize that your heart is a culprit
Oh, your dance is in vain

Ancient signs, on your design
Shy and vain, pride and shame
What you find in your past can you take it?
(something, something, something) and break it
Oh, your dance is in vain...

Fight your fight, bring war to life
Freedom's mine, we share the light
My people sigh, so here we are
The child within seeks peace without

Ancient signs, on your design
Love and pain, sword and chain
If your game is a crime you can solve it
Realize that your heart is a culprit
Oh, your dance is in vain

Ancient signs, on your design
Shy and vain, pride and shame
What you find in your past can you take it?
(something, something, something) and break it
Oh, your dance is in vain.

Muse is slowly kicking back into gear...

Okay, well, I survived the deadlines... *shivers and collapses* and last night I actually started writing a bit on the next chapter of Crimson Door again. Yay!

Emese has been my inspirational angel, sending me all kinds of good music to listen to that gets me into a creative mood. Thanks! :)

I'm trying to think of anything interesting to say to justify this post's exsistance... but I guess that's pretty much it. :)

Oooooog... in other news, I want to sic a rabid pack of Level E's on my office... I seriously do. End of the month crunch is always bad, but these past few days have been especially harried. I haven't had time or inspiration to work on the next chapter of Crimson Door almost at all... Sigh... I hate that. I finally understand why the writers I edit for get all temperamental when they've hit a writing slump. My muse is getting all crabby with me not writing. I hear her back there behind me, kicking over waste cans and scribbling nasty words on the wall of my cubicle...

sigh...

I know what I want to have happen, but every time I start trying to write it I keep thinking it's all coming out stupid and lame and everyone will hate it... guess I'm just having inspiration issues. Probably brought on by lack of time and the stress at work and at home. :( Ooooh well, it will pass I suppose.

Of course, I'm a hypocrite. Considering how slow it's going for me, I ought to stop checking Lightpathetic's profile every few hours to see if she's written anything new on her story "A Place for Us"... but what can I say? I'm addicted. ;)

Okay. Done whining. Sorry.

For your random viewing pleasure, here's links to some great Vampire Knight pictures I came across on Deviant Art.
