Vampire Knight Manga NOT Ending Anytime Soon!
*bounces in absolute delight whilst grinning like a maniac*
Okay, just heard some absolutely fantastic news from Sagakure. We've all been more or less figuring that the Vampire Knight manga was winding towards it's conclusion soon, right? I mean obviously we're coming up on a climax now. Which is awesome, but sad at the same time because I would sorely miss the monthly injecton of VK chapters to feed my addiction. ;)
HOWEVER, it turns out the series is far from over! In a recent magazine interview, VK mangaka Matsuri Hino stated that the first part of the series was indeed drawing to its close, but that she has two parts planned. Which means the second part hasn't even started yet, which means we will hopefully get more VK for a good long while yet! :D *grins and hopes that the second part is at least as long as the first*
Read the exact quotes from Ms. Hino, and more excerpts from the interview and other goodness on Sagakure's LJ here: http://sagakure.livejournal.com/185867.html
Okay, you read it? Well I'm going to assume you have and start wondering and speculating now. ;D
I wonder what the second part / plot arc will be about? Will it be a continuation of the first arc - ie: the situation with Rido doesn't get resolved somehow and he continues to be the major villian? Or does it get resolved, but the second part deals with the fallout / cost caused by that resolution? We mustn't forget the elder Ichijo and the Vampire Council's involvement in all this, nor the fact that the Hunters Association has also seen fit to make its move. Will getting rid of Rido checkmate both these powerful factions? Who knows... perhaps not.
I wonder if there will be a war? Considering in some of the interview snippets given in Sagakure's journal, it seems Ms. Hino had actually originally concieved the idea of VK as a flat out vampires vs. hunters senario, which later was changed of course to the setting that it has now, I wonder if any of that initial inspiration will work its way into the series? I don't know, very possibly not, but it would be interesting. Actually, I find it especially interesting because the eventuality of a war is something I intend to play with down the line in my own VK fanfics, so it would be quite interesting to see. But again, I'm just speculating, it could very likely be something entirely different that I can't even guess at right now.
Who knows what Ms. Hino has planned for the second part of the series? But considering the delightful job she's done thus far with the first part, I certainly look forward to finding out! :D

Ahhh! *sighs happily* Such a wonderful prayer to have answered - more Vampire Knight goodness to last us longer! That really makes me happy that Matsuri-sensei seems to be giving it her all for VK and has lots more to show us. ^.^
I was definately surprised to hear about how long it takes her to get her works out. Haha! It totally figures that Kaname's hair would take the longest. *loves that beautiful wavy-tousled hair*
And it's also good that she's supported the anime so much. Seems that whoevers in charge with that really has Matsuri-sensei's best interests at heart, wanting to represent VK at its best. *giggles at comment about certain anime-special scene* I'll definately make my own conclusions about that one, as most of us will. *grins*
I think it would be interesting if she brought in her old idea about a war. Taking into context what our story is about, she could really get some depth into something like that. I mean a war between vampires and hunters, or vampires and whatever could be done so well, that it could be far more complex than we think. Certainly wouldn't want to see anything fatal happening to any characters though.
Oh! When you think about it, even though this first series is coming to an end, the second bit could indeed focus a bit more on Zero and whatever transformation he's had to face now (unless they resolve that here soon). I mean, maybe with all that's gone on, his Level E pull might have dropped off and now he's something entirely new and different to the vampire race. Ya know what I mean?
Definately thought provoking and wondeful news that VK is continuing. It would be great if the anime did the same. Why not strech it beyond 26 eps too? ^.^
Thanks for getting all that info Sagakure!

Oh! I also forgot to mention (and maybe some of you have heard of it already) but did you know that the second season of Vampire Knight is going to be called 'Vampire Knight Guilty'. *insert ooo's and ahh's here* That definately begs for some attention and speculation IF (as we've seen in the LOVELY episode 13) it diverts from the manga or not. *grins*

Yes! I had heard that but I forgot to mention it. :D *adds to the oohing and ahhing* It does indeed beg some interesting speculation! ;)
And I agree, it would be interesting to see Ms. Hino's take on a war type situation... only I SO do not want any good guy casualties. *sniffles*
Yeah, I would love it if they decided to continue the anime on longer too as a result. :D

Do you think that it will continue in just the Manga or the anime too?

For right now, it's just the manga. There's no plans that I'm aware of to make another season of the manga, but who knows? If the fandom is popular and profitable enough, maybe they'll make more sometime. :)

Yes, yay!!!
Oh I hope they won't kill Zero though. I will be so sad if any of our beloved main characters dies! Or any of our beloved tertiary characters for that matter.
I'm totally with you on the plushie!! *huggles imaginary Kaname plushie since she can't get the real thing*
*bounces along in excitment as well*
