My Vampire Heart

Okay, well, wasn't quite back on as soon as I thought... small RL emergancy last night. I did mention that this whole past week / weekend totally sucked, right? Anyway, I did read the VK chapter 33 scanlation. :) It's actually very much like I kinda imagined from having looked at the raws, although being able to understand what people are saying definitely helps. The translation was a little stilted in some places and so I'm still left not entirely understanding parts of it (I look forward to whenever the 'official' scanlation comes out from the VK forums... I do hope they're still going to do one!) but it's soooooo much better than nothing and I'm so happy to have finally read it! Can't wait until someone comes up with the chapter 34 scanlation! Heck... I already can't wait for chapter 35! LOL

Squee!!! Just got my first peek at chapter 34 of VK! You can download the Vampire Knight chapter 34 raws here.

Please note that I did not scan it, I have merely uploaded it to my own webspace so as not to hotlink to anyone else's. My huge, undying thanks to the delightful person who did scan it and to the equally delightful Vampire Knight Forums where I found the link. If you haven't been there yet, go on over. NOW. Seriously, it's a must for VK fans.

Okay, now about the chapter.... I'm still totally jazzed after looking through it. I'm going to try not to spoil it for anyone, but let's just say that even though I couldn't understand a word, it was an awesome looking chapter!

This past week has been absolute hell for me for many reasons *sighs and kicks the holidays* but at least I get some good news today. First finding chapter 34, then I found out that lightpathetic posted another chapter to her delightfully wicked BDSM Vampire Knight story "Mature Kink". :D (If you like that kind of thing, go read it now, you won't be sorry.)

And to top it off, I just saw that an english scanlation of VK chapter 33 is finally available on mangatrader! Downloading it now. It's taking forever... but when it's done and I've read it I'll probably be back for another post.

Okay, first, gotta say that while I am currently going insane waiting for the translations for chapter 33 to come out, I did have a pleasant surprise today. One of my favorite VK fanfic authors posted a new story. "Love is Enough" by lightpathetic. It's a Kaname x Zero story. I love the way she writes them. Oh, I think I've probably added a new chapter to my story since the last time I wrote in here too... can't remember right now. LOL

But if I can digress for a moment into whiners-ville, on the topic of fanfiction... I cannot understand why it's so hard to find any good Vampire Knights fanfic out there! Especially good Kaname and Zero centric fanfics, or whumping / torture fanfics. I'm not asking for Shakespeare here... just a hint of a plot and decent characterization maybe. *sigh* I'm sure it's out there, I just can't figure out where most of it must be hiding. If anyone knows of any good stories, please point me in their direction!

Well, life's been keeping me pretty swamped. I'm trying hard to get chapter seven of my story ready to go, but stupid deadlines at work keep getting in the way. I'm a copy editor (which is not as interesting as it sounds... if you thought it sounded interesting. If you didn't, then you're right). You have no idea how irritating it is to be having to read and micro-analyze tripe about food and travel destinations (that you can't afford to go to *sigh*) when your mind keeps wondering off to two certain vampires and revising things you want to write in your head. :P

Annnyway, bright spot last week was that Volume 3 of Vampire Knights came out in English and I snapped it up at Borders. I've already read the scanlations, but I sat down and re-read the whole thing again... like I needed an excuse. 0:D Also, it's interesting to see the deviations between the online translations and the ones that VIZ comes up with. Sometimes the VIZ ones make a little more sense, but often I don't actually like them as well because they seem to me to strip some of the emotion out of the story. All in all, I actually prefer the scanlations... I don't know why. But there's definitely something to be said for being able to hold the book in your hands and flip through it, so of course I keep both.

Another bright spot was that I discovered a great VK community! Yay! Finally I can talk to other VK fans and stop driving people in real life nuts with things they don't care about... ;P

Summary: Kaname’s enemies concoct a dark plot to get to the pureblood through Yuki and Zero, putting all three in grave danger. Zero is left half dead and Kaname in the hands of sadistic captors. Only Kaname can give Zero what he needs to stay alive, and perhaps only Zero can save the pureblood from a fate worse than death… if only both of them can keep from killing each other first.

Wheee! Finally found the raws for VK chapter 33. Course, can't understand a word anyone is saying, but it certainly looks interesting and at least I can drool over the pictures. ;)
